After taking an Instagram break, I created a new account for MadLegs Media. Please follow me and watch my journey into the world of documentary filmmaking. My first project features Camden Punks, specifically the group of people who meet everyday on the Camden Lock bridge. While Zombie Punk is the most famous, and he certainly has a lot to share beyond his public persona, there is a family atmosphere where everyone is welcome (even if you hate punk music) and everyone is protected. My series will share their stories and challenge what you think you know about punk.

Does it count as plagiarism if you unknowingly use the same ideas and almost the same words as someone else?

Jack Trout's recent death encouraged me to pull his book "The 22 Immutable Laws of Marketing" off my bookshelf and skim the pages. I found highlighted text and notes in margins. On page 18, the chapter titled The Law of Perception, it states "Marketing is not a battle of products, it's a battle of perception". It was so familiar, I checked my website and found two instances of almost identical words.

For example, on this page of my website (http://madlegsmedia.com/capabilities/ ) it states: WIN THE MIND AND YOU'VE WON THE GAME.
We define marketing as a battle of perceptions more than products. It’s personal, measurable and waiting to be held. This is our starting point. It’s how we create, transform and elevate your brand to transcend functional benefits, becoming part of identity and influencing behaviour.

Is there a statute of limitations on plagiarism? Does this even count? It's not a unique or ground-breaking statement and I read the book shortly after it was published in 1993?
