Spent most of this week so far working on something a client will probably never even notice. Not a new feature, not something visible and definitely not something that'll make it into a case study. Just... making an existing background process a little less painful for someone on a daily basis.
Honestly, when I think about it, my job would be pretty soul-destroying if I didn't love it so much.
It's the kind of legacy workflow that used to involve three different systems and a half-cobbled-together spreadsheet. It now takes about thirty seconds in the middle of the night.
Nobody's ever going to say, "Wow Scott, that's impressive!"... and that's absolutely fine because I'm not in it for a pat on the back. Hopefully, they'll just quietly stop dreading updating client case records.
It's funny how much of this job is invisible when you get stuck in.
What's the most satisfying improvement you've made this week that nobody else will probably ever notice or care about? π€
