Most people think digital signage is just about making a business look a bit more modern.

But used properly, it can do much more than that.

A well-placed screen can help draw attention to offers, upgrades, add-ons, seasonal promotions and key messages that customers might otherwise miss. In other words, it can quietly support sales all day long.

In our latest Turbo Digital Insights article, we look at how digital signage can act like a silent salesperson for small businesses — helping to improve customer awareness, consistency and revenue.

When small businesses think about cybersecurity, it is easy to assume the answer must be expensive, complex, or highly technical.

In reality, many of the biggest problems come from much more ordinary weaknesses — poor passwords, no MFA, missed updates, weak backups, too much access, and simple mistakes that could have been prevented.

The truth is that the boring basics still do most of the heavy lifting.

In our latest Turbo Digital Insights article, we explain the practical small-business security measures that prevent most real-world disasters before they become expensive problems.

Many small businesses start out using free email because it seems like the easiest and most affordable option.

But over time, that apparent saving can come with real hidden costs — weaker branding, lower trust, poorer control, messy handovers, and avoidable day-to-day headaches.

Email is not just a messaging tool. It is part of how your business presents itself and how reliably important communication is managed.

In our latest Turbo Digital Insights article, we explain why free email services often cost small businesses more than they save — and what a more professional setup should include.

A cheap website can often become an expensive mistake.

While the upfront price may look attractive, low-cost websites often come with hidden long-term costs — from poor performance and weak SEO to difficult updates, accessibility issues, and fewer customer enquiries.

Your website should not just look great. It should actively support your business by helping people find you, trust you, and take the next step.

In our latest Turbo Digital Insights article, we explain why cheap websites usually end up costing more over time — and what small businesses should be looking for instead.

Choosing a hosting provider is one of those decisions many small businesses don’t think much about — until something stops working.

Low prices and big-name branding can look appealing, but good hosting is about far more than that. It’s about reliability, security, proper support, backups, and having a provider who will actually help when there’s a problem.

In our latest Turbo Digital Insights article, we look at what small businesses should really consider when choosing a hosting provider, and why the right partner can make a huge difference.

Most businesses think spam filtering happens after an email arrives.

In reality, well-run mail systems stop a large amount of spam before it’s even accepted.

Our latest Turbo Digital Insights article explains how modern email security works at the protocol level — using techniques such as reverse DNS validation, connection checks and greylisting to block junk before it reaches inboxes or even your mail queue.

It’s a simple principle: the cheapest spam to deal with is the spam you never accept.

If you run your own email infrastructure, or want to understand how professional mail systems protect business users, this article explains the approach in plain English.

Phishing emails are now a routine part of running a business.

“Your mailbox needs attention.”
“Your account will be suspended.”
“Security update required.”

Most are generic and automated. Most can simply be filtered and ignored.

But occasionally, an attack crosses the line — impersonating infrastructure, targeting a specific business, or attempting to harvest credentials through a cloned login page.

That’s when we escalate.

Not emotionally — procedurally.

Capturing evidence. Identifying the domain registrar and hosting layers. Submitting reports to the organisations that can actually disable the infrastructure.

Will it eliminate phishing entirely? No.

But reducing the lifespan of an active credential-harvesting campaign:
• Lowers exposure
• Protects brand trust
• Increases attacker cost
• Strengthens defensive processes

We’ve written a detailed article explaining how we decide when escalation is worth it — and why selective intervention still makes a difference.

Most cafés and hospitality businesses invest in digital menu screens because they look modern and professional.

But the real value isn’t the screen itself — it’s the psychology behind how customers decide what to order.

Well-designed digital menus subtly influence spending by shaping:
• what customers notice first
• how prices are perceived
• how choices are simplified
• what feels “popular” or recommended

We’ve just published a practical article breaking down why digital menu screens increase average order value when they’re designed properly — and why some layouts actually suppress spend without you realising.

If you already use digital menus, this will help you get more value from them.
If you’re thinking about installing them, this will help you design them properly from day one.

Most businesses that install digital screens barely use them properly.

They look nice on the wall… but they’re often just showing the same static info day after day.

When digital signage is used well, it can actually:

Increase how much customers spend

Help fill quieter periods

Make it easier for customers to choose

Improve how professional your business feels

We’ve just published a practical guide on 7 ways cafés, gyms and retail businesses can use digital signage to increase revenue in 2026 – based on what works in real businesses, not theory.

If you already have screens, this will help you get more out of them.
If you’re thinking about installing them, this will help you avoid common mistakes.
