There was a time in the oil business when the pressure felt unbearable.

Is tea better than your CRM?

I sat down with Mr Hiểu (A prospect and friend) at 6.45 am this week and he served me delicious, soothing and calming Thai Nguyen Tea.

We planned to start rolling livestream at 7am.

A ritual of connection

In many Vietnamese households and business settings, serving Thai Nguyen Tea is more than a beverage - it’s a gesture of respect and hospitality.

The careful preparation and slow, deliberate pouring of the tea encourages mindfulness and conversation, allowing time for a personal connection.

It was 7.30 am and I was looking at it brewing thinking get on with it, bring the new product and let’s start rolling the livestream … OMG they are slow.

However I resisted the urge to say hurry up Hiểu pour the … tea and so glad I did.

Come to think of it, it’s common to see this ritual used to ease business discussions or spend quality time with loved ones.

He spoke about his passions and his gardening and cooking.

We were shortly joined for breakfast by the founder, marketing manager, GM and the sales team.

I knew so much more about them and their direction. I could be their Agentforce.
