🎶 What a wild week of shows we’ve had. Our very own .n.jackson has been working with

🎸 On Thursday he was out with the cameras to film and photograph being presented an award. Arriving early Luke got some shots of the stars in Block 108, Row F, the birthplace of the band. Later on he captured some video and photos of McFly being presented an award for 10 shows at Utilita outside their dressing room. This had a quick turnaround and so a small, nimble camera & mic set up was a priority here.

🎤 Saturday night came around and Luke was back out with his camera ready to capture Peter Kay on stage during his set. Again being presented an award for 10 shows at the Utilita Arena. Once again Luke needed to be flexible and quick on his feet to capture the perfect moments, so the smaller the setup the better.

✨ We’ve had an awesome time getting to shoot these projects and be a part of these great moments

Another day, another lighting breakdown! 💡This one was quicker and simpler lighting design to usual due to the space and time available.

We decided to use the natural light coming from the conservatory as a large wrapping light on the subject and then brought their exposure up with an additional .lighting amaran 200x.

For contrast, on camera left, we have a large black negative which allowed us to somewhat shoot towards the darker side of the subject. This gave us both the contrast we wanted and depth of the frame whilst shooting wide and centrally for social crops. We then used a small LED panel on camera left to give a pop of a highlight on the contrast side so it wasn’t too moody.

The shots vs BTS 📸

Mixing hard and soft light to capture these fake morning light images ☀️(it was really grey and overcast)

First we lit the location through a CTO gel to give the morning look we were after. We then supplemented that with a 5600k light with softbox onto the subject accompanied by a negative fill on the opposite side to create some contrast.

A lot of the time: light the location first, subjects second 👍
