Hints and Tips...

Who's judging a particular award can be a good way to ascertain just how prestigious and credible a particular award is. Questions you might like to ask yourself are;

1. Is the judge a previous winner and if so what experience and prejudices are they bringing to the judging table?

2. Is the judge also a sponsor of the awards they're judging? If so does this give them anymore say-so than any other judge?

3. Is the judge also entering the awards (either individually or via their business) and if so how is that being treated by the award organisers?

What you're looking for is clear judging criteria and transparency thereby ensuring you know your nomination will get as fair an opportunity as anyone else around that table (virtual or otherwise). Don't be afraid to ask questions. Entering (and winning!) awards takes time. Make sure you invest it wisely gaining the maximum benefit for your efforts.
