Romeo has been staring at me for 10 minutes straight and I think he’s trying to tell me something.

Possibly “feed me.” Possibly “your Tuesday outfit is a crime.” Possibly just “I am a chameleon and this is what we do.”

Meanwhile I’m two coffees in, post it notes coming out my ears, and increasingly convinced my chameleon has a richer inner life than I do.

Survived my daughter’s birthday sleepover. Barely.

3 eleven-year-olds, zero bedtimes, and approximately 4,000,000 giggles between the hours of 11 and 2 am!

At one point I genuinely considered going undercover as one of them just to figure out where they’re getting this energy. Asked them what time they wanted to “settle down” and got hit with a wall of laughter so loud Romeo the chameleon changed colour in solidarity.

I think I aged about 4 years overnight. Worth it though… ask me again in a week 😅

Send help. And coffee. Mostly coffee.

So… my daughter’s birthday was on the 4th of June and somehow we’re STILL celebrating! 🎂🥳

I’ve genuinely lost count of how many birthday celebrations she’s had at this stage. Fair play to her though, she’s mastered the art of milking her birthday for all it’s worth! 😂

This weekend is birthday celebration number… who even knows anymore? 🎉

If you spot me this afternoon being dragged around the shops by a pack of sugar-fuelled girlies, please don’t judge. Feel free to send coffee, snacks, or possibly a rescue team. ☕🚑😂

Real question though — what’s the record in your house for “how many times can one birthday be celebrated before it’s technically a different occasion”? 😂 I think we’re closing in on number 4 and I’m starting to think she’s just renaming Tuesdays “Birthday Tuesday” at this point.

Today’s a big one. It’s my mum’s birthday, and honestly, she deserves a whole parade — but she’d probably tell me to stop making a fuss and put the kettle on instead. 🫖

She’s the woman who somehow raised a person who now runs a printing business AND owns 5 dogs, a spider, a mantis, and a chameleon. So clearly her parenting was either exceptional or deeply chaotic. Possibly both.

Happy birthday Mum. I love you loads, and I think we can all agree the world is significantly better with you in it. The dogs are barking in your honour, the spider is doing something unsettling in the corner, the mantis is judging everyone as usual, and Romeo blinked in your direction this morning — which for a chameleon is basically a standing ovation. 🦎🕷️🐾

☕😴 Friday tiredness has officially kicked in…

Thought I was being productive last night, designing away until after 11pm… turns out that was a decision made entirely by “future me’s problem.” Unfortunately, future me has now arrived and she is NOT happy. 🤦‍♀️

I’m currently 3 coffees deep and I haven’t even survived the school run yet. At this rate I’ll either be super productive or vibrating through a wall by lunchtime. ☕⚡

Today’s agenda:
🎨 Design work
🚗 Trip to the suppliers
✅ A few jobs to finish off
☕ More coffee
☕ Possibly even more coffee
☕ Let’s be honest… definitely more coffee

If anyone sees a woman wandering around looking confused, clutching a giant coffee and muttering to herself — don’t panic. She’s fine. She owns a business. It’s basically the same thing. 😂

Trying to do some design work with a 5-stone bulldog who genuinely believes she’s a lap dog… 🐶😂

My daily routine:

✔ Sit down to work
✔ Open iPad
✔ End up with 5 stone of bulldog on my knee
✔ Pick up Apple Pencil
✔ Have Apple Pencil immediately mistaken for a snack
✔ Get drooled on
✔ Listen to LOUD snoring directly in my ear
✔ Abandon all plans of personal space
✔ Nearly miss a deadline
✔ Can’t even be mad about it (that wee face😍)

She wedges herself under my chin, tries to eat the top off my Apple Pencil, then falls asleep snoring extremely loudly and drooling on my shoulder like she’s had the hardest day of anyone in this house.

Apparently cuddles outrank deadlines. I don’t make the rules. 🤦‍♀️❤️

Wouldn’t change a thing though… even if my design assistant is completely useless. 🐾😂

Anyone else have a “helper” who makes working ten times harder but a hundred times better?
