Setting up my freelance business over the last few weeks has been a lot of fun. One of the first things I did was think about what I wanted my values to be.
These values might change over the months or years. I think that is ok, people adapt and change all the time.
Right now, these are the things that matter most to me when doing business with other people and companies.
🧡 Impact & Results - Something I hear from people I have worked with is that I'm good at "getting things done" - this is my first value. I am dedicated to delivering measurable value and exceeding expectations for clients. I expect this is the goal for most people, especially those building a business!
💛 Inclusivity & Respect - As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I want to ensure that ALL interactions are equitable, respectful, and create a safe space for diverse clients and partners. This makes an enormous difference to people's day-to-day lives, especially when a lot of industries are predominantly cis gendered, white male-led. I want to be part of the change, reflecting all voices and unique experiences.
💚 Transparency & Integrity - I want you to see me as trustworthy. I'm naturally an honest and open person. Ask me my feelings on negotiation tactics, and you'll probably understand how my brain works.
💙 Collaboration & Partnership - Being approachable, personable, and welcoming is as important as delivering good results. I won't drown you in jargon and fill my sentences with fluff. Unless that's your thing! This value is about me fostering strong and collaborative relations with my clients so that we can work together towards shared goals.
💜 Continuous Growth - Digital Marketing moves so fast, and I need to be agile and adapt to the landscape. I am committed to ongoing learning and evolving so that I can provide you with the best solutions to your business problems. I am part of Up World and Girls in Marketing for this reason - both provide vibrant communities, webinars, and training so that I can keep up to date with the dynamic digital marketing landscape.
