I’m bursting with excitement & respect for my client Lisa - this weekend we recorded the first two episodes of her new video podcast series 🎉

One of the things I love about working with Lisa is her understanding of the role I play as the producer.

👉 Lisa had a very general idea about wanting to do a video podcast. We worked together and pinned down a series structure

👉 Next up, we decided what themes & topics Lisa should cover in each episode, and crucially, why these are relatable to listeners. Then I developed an episode format

👉 We challenge each other on whether our ideas and guest suggestions fit into the overall ambition of the series. If they don’t, we find an alternative

👉 I put the technical plans in place to ensure both the video & audio of the podcast is as clear as possible, nobody wants to watch & listen a muffled zoom recording

👉 Lisa listens to my feedback of what to ask guests and how to make the content more relatable to the viewer/listener - she appreciates this is my area of expertise

The series launches later this year and I can’t wait to start sharing more about this project 🎙️

84% of customers have been convinced to buy a product or service after watching a video, so why aren't you creating more video content?

This week, I've heard:

👉 I don't like my background
👉 It's quite dark in my office
👉 I haven't got the new iPhone

Let's find a free solution to each of those problems:

🪴 Use cinematic mode to record, so the background is blurred. Or move some bright green pot plants into the background to add interest

☀️ Face towards a window when you're filming, the sun is a free lighting source

📱 If your phone films video you don't need the latest model. I'm using a 2+ year old iPhone to run a video based business

I rarely hear people admit they don't know how to produce video content. This means:

👉 Knowing what to share in a video
👉 Knowing the order to say things
👉 Knowing how long to talk about something before moving on

You won't win new customers with a sleek looking video and badly produced content. But you will get customers from valuable content that's simply filmed.

Trust me, I do video.

Sorry I’ve been silent, I’ve been a little busy 😁

I started The Online Media Coach earlier this year and everything was going swimmingly…then I went a little quiet online. Not because I got bored with my new venture, simply because I was asking this beautiful woman to marry me.

I’ve still been working with several clients on their video marketing strategies through my one-to-one power hour service…which I’ve not even announced yet. So if you want to know more, drop me a DM. There’s no fancy webpage yet.

Video content is the most effective way to communicate online, so if you’re not using video efficiently then your brands’ message is getting lost or misinterpreted.

Here’s a stat for you - when it comes to learning about a new product or service a whopping 69% of consumers prefer to watch short videos, compared to just 18% who prefer to read text.

That says it all for me.

You need to start upping the quality of your video marketing to ensure your customers are correctly understanding you, your services & your products.
