For fashion, autumn is definitely my favourite season. The coats and layers come out but it’s not started endlessly raining (I live in Manchester, it rains A LOT!!)

But this year I am 100% not ready for autumn. Whether that is because we have had such a glorious summer, or because I’ve loved experimenting with my summer wardrobe, I was definitely not ready to put a coat on this morning!

So the Ber months can stay away for a bit longer! That said, I am very excited to see how I utilise the more colour that I am wearing in my autumn winter wardrobe.

personal styling appointments are already getting booked up for people looking for new season pieces, so if you need any help, get in touch today.

My work uniform.

When I’m doing a colour analysis, I always wear neutral clothes. That way, none of the colours I am wearing will affect how the drapes appear.

Seeing clearly the effects of the different coloured drapes on a client’s skin tone is how I conclude which seasonal palette someone is.

And when a client themselves can see the change, that’s when the magic happens.

If you want to know more about colour analysis, and how it can work for you, then get in touch today.

“I’ve got loads of clothes, but no idea what to wear.”

This is something I hear all the time, and a great reason to have a wardrobe edit

My client wasn’t looking for a whole new wardrobe.

She wasn’t interested in chasing trends.

She simply wanted to be able to get dressed easily, without overwhelm and overthinking.

After her colour analysis, we looked at the clothes she already owned.

Suddenly, everything became much clearer.

She knew which colours made her look healthier.

She understood why certain outfits had never felt quite right.

Most importantly…

She left knowing how to make confident decisions every morning.

No more second guessing.

No more buying clothes that stayed in the wardrobe.

That’s why I love what I do.

Sometimes confidence starts with something much simpler than we think.

A wardrobe edit with me will declutter your space, put together outfits for you based on what you already have to give you more choice, and also highlight any gaps in your wardrobe so you can make purchases when you’re ready.

Don’t think of it as an expense, think of it as a time and stress saver!

If you want to know more about what a wardrobe edit entails, and how it can help you, get in touch today.

Copenhagen Fashion Week is the one I always look out for. In my dreams I’m a cool Scandi girl, in reality I’m not cool at all but love Scandi brands such as GANNI , STINE GOYA and Baum und Pferdgarten !

Street style at CPHFW as always the best in my opinion and these 4 trends are ones I’ll be adopting now.

Camo - as someone who has spent an obscene amount of time recently searching online for the perfect pair of camo trousers and still wears her camo jacket from 15 years ago, I will be all over this!

Turquoise - turquoise or teal is one of the few colours that can be worn universally by everyone, as it blends warm and cool tones together, so this is an easy trend to adopt for everyone

Dresses over trousers - very Y2K, but I love it! A slip dress over a T-shirt over jeans is a really simple way to adopt this.

Fringing - an easy trend for anyone to adopt, as this can be done with accessories especially bags. I will personally be digging out a couple of fringe bags that I know I have already.

Save this for future fashion inspo or send to anyone who is looking for some inspiration.

The key to having a great wardrobe is not having lots of clothes, it’s having lots of outfits and things you can re-wear again and again, making getting dressed easy, quick and fun.

When I am doing wardrobe edits or Personal styling consultations with clients, I always talk about having hero pieces that work for you again and again. This can be the obvious things such as a great pair of jeans, a great white T-shirt, a black pair of boots or a black leather jacket, but could also be something as simple as a top or jumper you will wear again and again.

This denim peplum top is one of the hardest working pieces in my wardrobe. I bought it in the ASOS sale a few years ago to wear specifically with one pair of striped trousers and now it’s probably the top I reach for most as it goes with pretty much everything.

So, it’s not about throwing all your clothes away and starting again, it’s about working with what you have, identifying any gaps, showing you different ways of wearing pieces you may not have thought about and making the most of your wardrobe with the least outlay.

Personal styling is not just for the rich. It’s for anybody, and could save you a lot of money in the long run.

Have you ever noticed that some colours make you look and feel amazing… while others just don’t seem to do you any favours?

That’s where colour analysis comes in.

I’m Dawn, founder of Stylelust by Dawn, and I help women discover the colours that naturally complement them, so getting dressed can feel easier, more confident and more enjoyable.

A colour analysis looks at your natural colouring — your skin tone, eyes and hair — to identify which of the four seasonal colour palettes suits you best: Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter.

From there, you have a personalised palette of colours that can help you choose clothes, accessories, makeup and even jewellery that work with your natural colouring rather than against it.

But colour analysis isn’t just about looking good.

Wearing colours that suit you can make you feel brighter, more confident and more like yourself. It can help you see your wardrobe differently, make shopping easier and give you the confidence to step away from those colours you automatically reach for simply because they’re familiar.

And there’s something quite lovely about discovering that the colours you’ve always been drawn to might actually be the ones that make you shine.

I’m based in Greater Manchester and offer personal colour analysis for women who want to understand what works for them and feel more confident in their clothes.

If you’ve never had a colour analysis before and have always wondered “What season am I?”, I’d love to introduce you to the world of colour.

Feel free to drop me a message or comment below if you’d like to know more.
