Here's a quick rundown of the project.
Mytholmroyd Community Station – Logo & Title Design
Client Background
Mytholmroyd Community Station is a dedicated group of volunteers who look after the upkeep and welcoming feel of Mytholmroyd train station. Their work ensures the station is not only functional but also reflects the pride of the local community.
Project Goal
The aim was to create a professional yet approachable logo, paired with a title, that captured the station’s community spirit and made the volunteers’ work more visible to visitors and locals alike.
Design Process
Research & Discovery: Looked into the history of the station and the ethos of the volunteer group.
Concept Development: Explored themes of connection, journey, and community pride.
Typography & Style: Selected a typeface that balanced readability with warmth.
During development, the figures in the logo were initially white. After feedback and reflection, they were changed to green, reinforcing themes of diversity, inclusivity, and community growth. This colour choice helped the figures feel more connected to the natural environment of Mytholmroyd while celebrating the vibrancy and variety of the people who care for the station.
Final Logo & Title: Created a design that was modern, clean, and symbolic of the station’s role as a hub for the community.
Outcome
The final logo, paired with its title, has been signed off and adopted by the group. It provides a strong, consistent identity that can be used across signage, promotional materials, and community communications—strengthening the visibility of Mytholmroyd Community Station and celebrating the efforts of its volunteers.
