50 Days of Cheshire might be over… but we’re definitely not done discovering and celebrating everything local! 💚

Over 50 days, we visited some incredible businesses, met the people behind them and hopefully introduced you to a few new favourites along the way.

So, the big question is… what do you want to see next?

We want to keep finding new independents, supporting the businesses already doing amazing things and shining a light on some of the people who don’t always get the recognition they deserve.

Maybe it’s another challenge, a new series, hidden gems, unsung heroes… we want YOUR ideas!

Day 50 of 50 Days of Cheshire 🥹💚

WE DID IT. 50 days. 50 Cheshire businesses.

And for the final day, it felt only right to finish back where so much of this began for me, Nantwich.

I headed to Canine Creations Cheshire to pick up some treats for Nala, and obviously I couldn’t leave empty-handed! Canine Creations specialises in handmade dog treats and gifts, all made here in Cheshire, as well as the most amazing birthday and gotcha day cakes for your pups. 🐾

But I also can’t quite believe this is the final post.

Over the last 50 days I’ve travelled across Cheshire, visited businesses I already loved, discovered so many new ones, eaten a LOT of incredible food, drunk my fair share of coffee and matcha, met some amazing business owners and dragged plenty of friends, family and team members along with me!

What started as a challenge to showcase just some of what Cheshire has to offer has made me even more excited about what we’re building with Shop Local Cheshire.

And if there’s one thing these 50 days have proved, it’s that there is so much right on our doorstep. 50 businesses barely scratches the surface.

A huge thank you to every business that welcomed me, everyone who joined me on a visit, and every single person who has watched, liked, commented, shared or suggested somewhere along the way.

50 days might be over, but we’re definitely not finished discovering Cheshire. 💚

So… what does “local” actually mean? 💚

When you hear shop local, it’s easy to immediately picture independent shops lining our high streets.

And of course, they’re a huge part of it — but to us, local means so much more.

It’s the café you grab a coffee from, the freelancer you hire for your business, the PT you train with, the maker you discover at a market, the online business based down the road and the restaurant you choose for dinner.

Some local businesses have shopfronts. Some have offices. Some work from home, online, at markets or travel directly to their customers.

That’s why at Shop Local Cheshire, we want to champion independents in all their different forms.

Because choosing local isn’t only about where you shop.

It’s about where you eat, who you work with, which services you use and where you choose to spend your money.

And every one of those choices can help support a Cheshire business.

Shop Local. Eat Local. Work Local. Choose Local. 💚

Day 49 of 50 Days of Cheshire ☕️💚

How are we at the penultimate day already?!

For Day 49, I headed over to Prestbury to visit Henry’s by Christian, a lovely family-run café right in the heart of the village.

With breakfast and lunch, coffee, homemade cakes and freshly baked pastries on offer, it’s such a gorgeous spot to pop into and another Cheshire independent I’m very glad made it into the 50 days.

One of the things I’ve loved most about this challenge is just how many different towns and villages it’s taken me to. Even after 49 days, there are still SO many businesses across Cheshire I could keep going with!

But there’s just ONE day left… 🥹

49 days down. Day 50 tomorrow! 💚

Day 48 of 50 Days of Cheshire 🍬🍫

If you’ve got a sweet tooth, Cherry on Top is definitely one for your list!

I popped in for Day 48 and there is SO much more to this business than just the shop. Alongside all the sweets and treats, they also create brownie stacks, sweet cones, sweet bombs and so much more.

They can even create sweet tables for weddings and events, which I think is such a fun addition to a celebration (and something I may need to remember 👀).

Whether you’re looking for a little treat, a gift or something for a special occasion, there are so many reasons to check them out.

And somehow… 48 days down, just TWO to go! 🥹💚

Day 47 of 50 Days of Cheshire 🍦

Just THREE days to go, and today Mark and I headed to Bidlea Dairy at The Orchards Farm.

We had such a lovely lunch before finishing, of course, with some of their ice cream, which was absolutely incredible!

Bidlea is a family-run Cheshire business, and I love that the milk they use comes straight from their own pedigree herd on the farm. There’s something so lovely about knowing exactly where the products you’re enjoying have come from and supporting the family behind them too.

Good food, amazing ice cream and a lovely afternoon out, definitely one to add to your Cheshire list!
