It’s been a little while since I last posted on here.

Over the past few months I’ve been quietly building Firexcheck — a digital platform designed to simplify how fire extinguisher compliance, inspections and quotes are managed.

Right now, the Android app is in closed testing on Google Play, and while that process runs its course, I’ve been:
Refining the mobile UI for real-world use
Adding offline-friendly features
Improving the quoting workflow to reduce admin time.

Listening closely to early user feedback.

Building software for a regulated,
real-world industry takes time — but the aim is simple:
less paperwork, fewer missed actions, and more confidence in compliance.

I'm currently going through the closed testing phase on playstore, to create the 'App' for Firexcheck. The user interface has already been updated for better hosting on tablets and is live now, but for offline storage and syncing it will be a couple of weeks whilst the testing phase goes through.

Fingers crossed there's no delay, this will give added usability to the system for area's where there is no signal, all data will be synced and stored once a signal is re-established 👊 🧯 🧯 ✅

I love talking to customers/potential customers and demonstrating the system! A conversation today gave me 2 great additions to Firexcheck, the first is on the validation scan, where the user can now report an issue directly to the servicing company, the second is the ability to build a quote for your customers, directly from the system, a real time saver and no need for separate systems or spreadsheets, have it built directly from your uploaded stock.

What the shift to the European Fire Door testing standard means for fire safety professionals

The Government has confirmed that from September 2029, the National system for the classification of fire doors based on testing to BS 476-22 will no longer be accepted as a method of demonstrating compliance with the building regulations in England. This leaves only the European system based on BS EN 13501-2 classifications as the acceptable way of demonstrating performance.
