Today we remember Cyril Bainbridge, who gave his life on 6 June 1944 during the D-Day landings.

Serving with 47 Royal Marine Commando, Cyril was among the brave men who landed in Normandy as part of the Allied invasion of Europe. Eighty-two years on, we honour his courage, sacrifice, and service, and remember all those who fought and fell on that historic day.

We’ve recently fitted our reproduction embroidered insignia to this lovely 1940 Pattern Austerity Battledress Blouse. Representing a Warrant Officer of the 156th Parachute Battalion, this impression reflects the period leading up to Operation Market Garden and the Battle of Arnhem in September 1944. A fitting tribute to one of the most iconic airborne units of the Second World War.
