At the weekend, I spotted an advert on a train, which caught my attention, and it got me thinking.

We spend so much time talking about social media, websites and email marketing that sometimes we forget there are other ways to get in front of people too.

When someone is sitting on a train, waiting at a bus stop, or travelling on public transport, they're a captive audience.

They can't simply scroll past.
They can't click away.
They've got time to look, read and take it in.

That's why traditional advertising still has a place in your marketing mix.

Of course, digital marketing is incredibly powerful, but the best marketing isn't always about choosing one channel over another. It's about thinking about where your customers actually spend their time and making sure you're showing up there.

Sometimes the opportunities are right in front of us.

Have you ever seen an advert somewhere unexpected that really caught your attention?

👇 I'd love to know where.

Half term is over.
The new month has arrived.
The inbox is full.
The to-do list has somehow got longer.

If you're starting the week feeling a little behind, a little overwhelmed, or wondering how you're going to fit everything in...

This is your reminder that I believe in you.

You've got through every busy season before.
You've solved every problem that's landed on your desk.
And you've built a business that people choose to buy from.

One step at a time.
One task at a time.
One coffee at a time.

Here's to a fresh month and a fresh start.

What's the one thing you're focusing on this month?

A little reminder for business owners this Mental Health Awareness Week: you do not have to do everything yourself.

Reply to every email instantly.
Be available 24/7.
Manage every task alone.
Carry the whole business on your shoulders.

Asking for support isn’t a weakness. Delegating isn’t failure. Taking a break isn’t laziness.

One positive action you can take for your mental wellbeing? Stop trying to be a one-person army.

Whether it’s outsourcing admin, getting help with marketing, or simply admitting you’re overwhelmed, support matters. Your business (and family) needs you to be healthy too.

Mental Health Awareness Week is here, and this year’s theme is action. Not huge life changes. Not overnight transformations. Just small actions that make a big difference.

So today, this is your reminder to:

☕ Take your lunch break away from your desk
📵 Put your phone down for 10 minutes
🚶 Go outside for some fresh air
💬 Check in on someone you care about
❌ Say no to something that’s draining you

When you run a business, it’s easy to believe you have to be “always on.” But burnout doesn’t make you more successful. It just makes everything harder. Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is pause.

What’s one small action you’re taking for yourself this week?

Some days it’s instant motivation.
Other days, it’s very much a slow pour with a bit of steam and a “don’t talk to me yet” energy.

Either way, the system is still booting up.

First step: coffee.
Second step: pretend you’ve got your life together.
Third step: actually do the thing that's still on the to-do list from last week.

Running a business can sometimes feel like there’s never enough time.

You didn’t start your business to spend your evenings chasing invoices, replying to emails at 9pm, or wondering what to post on social.

You started it to do what you love.

And whether that looks like:
✔ actually having a proper evening off
✔ spending more time with family and friends
✔ or finally getting the headspace to work on your business (not just in it)

That’s the kind of growth that really matters.

Getting your time back is where things start to feel good again.

(And if your to-do list is currently giving you the side-eye, you know where I am!)

Some businesses shoot up overnight
Some take their time.
Some have a little wobble, then come back stronger.

All are completely normal. Growth doesn’t always look like more sales, bigger teams or going viral.

Sometimes it looks like:
✔ finally getting on top of your inbox
✔ showing up consistently on social
✔ feeling a bit more in control than you did last month

Fast. Slow. Slightly chaotic. It all counts.

Small steps = real growth. And you don’t have to do it all on your own.

Wow, what a lovely way to end the month!

Not only am I so proud to be building a business I love, but knowing I get to support others to do the same makes it even more special.

Thank you so much for your kind words and for trusting me to help this year, Rebecca Planit Financial. Here’s to continuing the journey and seeing what amazing things we can achieve together in 2026!

April is National Stress Awareness Month, and if you’re running a small business, you’ll know stress is basically part of the job.

But it doesn’t have to be overwhelming. A Virtual Assistant or freelance business support can take the pressure off by helping with the things that eat your time and energy:

Managing emails and inbox overwhelm
Chasing invoices and late payments
Organising your diary and admin
Do that research that you've been putting off
Data entry that you just don't have the time for

Basically, they help you focus on what you’re brilliant at, and stop you feeling like you’re constantly juggling a hundred things at once.

Sometimes, a little support is all it takes to feel more in control, calmer, and actually enjoy running your business again.

If your to-do list is stressing you out, maybe it’s time to get someone in to help. Drop me a message to see if I can support you in any way.

Most marketing advice doesn’t work anymore.

❌ Post every day
❌ Be on every platform
❌ Follow this “magic formula”

No wonder small businesses feel overwhelmed. I’ve broken down what actually works in 2026, and it’s a lot simpler than you think.

If your marketing feels harder than it should, this is for you. https://www.taabvirtualsolutions.com/post/most-marketing-advice-is-outdated
