Your 40s are a funny age. You stop caring what people think… then your hormones throw you onto a rollercoaster and suddenly you don’t recognise yourself.
Your behaviour feels erratic, your brain’s buffering, and leaving the house feels optional at best. If that’s you too.....read on.
Confidence is deeply internal, and when it dips, it’s rarely just one thing. Here’s what’s helped me rebuild mine:
🏃🏼♀️ Movement (yes, I know)
Yoga to ground. Boxing for the rage. Running when your brain won’t cooperate. Strength training because you might need to be your own bouncer. Walking for podcasts and perspective.
🎯 Taking action
Even when you don’t want to. Every small action builds evidence that you can trust yourself.
🧘♀️ Meditation
Calmer mind = calmer you.
👚 Retail therapy
Not an exact science, but a small boost can go a long way.
🕶️ Get outside
Fresh air, people, a mooch around Superdrug. It shifts your state and your thoughts.
🍓 Nourishment
You don’t need perfection. Just start with one better meal. Your body (and mood) will thank you.
📓 Journalling
Get it out of your head. You’ll feel lighter instantly.
📺 What you consume matters
Be intentional. Learn something new, talk about it, confidence grows through exposure, not perfection.
There’s no magic fix when you don’t feel like yourself. Just small steps, one day at a time. And if you need support, take it.
I share monthly recommendations. DM me if there’s something you want covered. I’m no expert, just a willing test subject.
We’re all in this together 🤍
