We are back at work and the w**ds are starting already! We have been pruning Fruit trees, putting down mulch and compost and starting the rose pruning. This is such an exciting time of year as the work done now will provide the perfect summer garden. Lots of spring garden buds are formed now as a reminder of work done in Autumn.

As a Gardener I frequently turn up to work and find that whilst the Garden is tended there are signs of nutrient deficiency everywhere. Yellowing of leaves, Purple spots, soil which is sandy and seemingly barren. Soils are generally only slightly deficient and so with a little gardening care and knowledge of the requirements of the plants these problems can often be remedied. [ 73 more words. ]

September is a good month to carry out some autumn lawn maintenance. However, the start of the month can still be hot and dry, so you may need to delay treatment until the weather turns cooler and wetter. If moss is a problem, start with an application of autumn fertiliser and moss killer. It will t…
