Why “no one wants to see your listings” is a lie
I’ve been posting real estate listings to social media for a large agency for over 7 years. And here’s the truth: listings work — just not in the way most agents think.
You’re doing it for 3 reasons:
1. Vendor psychology & visibility
Posting consistently makes vendors feel like their property is everywhere. Their friends and family see the ads. They tag people. They feel their agent is “doing their job.” That confidence is priceless.
2. Brand equity
Every listing reinforces your brand in the community. People might not like or comment, but they’re building familiarity. That “know, like, trust” effect compounds over years — not weeks.
3. Future seller pipeline
The real magic is in the data. Traffic ads build your pixel, which you can retarget with appraisal pages, market reports, and guides (downsizing, upsizing, investors). The immediate conversions may be low — but with a 7-year sales cycle, the size of your list is your long game.
👉 The mistake most agents make? Expecting a single listing post to equal a new lead.
👉 The reality? It’s an ecosystem, not a one-step funnel.
After scaling thousands of listing graphics and ad assets, I’ve seen how consistent posting not only drives awareness but actually improves click-through rates (buyers are tired of wasting time on properties that don’t fit their needs).
Bottom line: listings are not noise. They are the backbone of your awareness engine.
