Cold Chain Safety: Why Anti Slip Friction Mats Matter In Reefers and Vans!!!
In the transportation of temperature critical goods, it’s not just about getting from A to B – it’s about maintaining product integrity every step of the way.
One of the most overlooked risks? Cargo shifting or sliding during transit, especially when using plastic pallets.
Plastic pallets already have a really low slip co-efficient, on the floors in the back of vans /reefers it gets considerably worse, the result of this can be loads shifting and sliding in braking and cornering.
When pallets slide around inside a refrigerated trailer:
- They can block the airflow to the fan.
- Cause disruption to temperature circulation.
- Cause hotspots meaning the temperature can rise above safe levels.

Obviously its easy for us to say these friction mats work, but how do you know that they work, you would need some proof of some sorts or some testing.
Well here you go, a Linear friction test with a newton meter showing the forces needed to pull different material across a piece of wood.( Truck bed )

Our Load Secure solutions come in many shapes and sizes, our aim is to help prevent pallets from sliding during transport.
So we introduce you to one of them right here - Regupol 7210.
This is our entry level material it comes in sizes of 3mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm and 10mm in thickness.

Main uses for this type of friction mats are palletised and general haulage.
Has a standard slip co-efficient of 0.72µ. ( Surpasses the DVSA guidelines ).
Easy to install. ( loose lay ).
Made from 95% recyclable materials.
Capable of withstanding 250 ton per metre square.
