We are proud to present our first community project of the year. The Kean Hall Charity Football Match is an excellent cause for a great charity.
Ronald McDonald House Charities UK provides families with free 'home away from home' accommodation while their child is in hospital.
Kean is known in the local community as ‘King Ke’. He was well-known and loved by everyone who knew him. Kean was diagnosed with stage four rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS), a rare form of cancer, in 2009 at 3 years of age. He went through intense chemotherapy and radiotherapy that lasted for a year to free him of cancer. During this time, Kean’s family were by his side 24 hours a day.
Kean’s treatment was a success and for the next five years, Kean was closely monitored by his consultant having regular scans. In 2021, unfortunately, cancer returned which led to more treatment. Chemotherapy and radiotherapy before surgery in Great Ormond Street in London. This was closely monitored again by several consultants and was deemed successful, to begin with. Unfortunately, later scans revealed that the disease had spread and there were no remaining treatment options for him. Much to the family and community’s devastation, Kean passed away on the 30th of September 2022.
We are supporting an absolutely incredible community and committee coming together to honour Kean and the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) and would like to encourage everyone to support this wonderful event.
