FOUND CAT - Lewisham - lactating
This cat was found late last night crying behind some bins in an alleyway at the back of Lewisham High Street in S.E London behind shops and to the rear of the Police station. The member of the public who found her kindly took her home for the night and promptly contacted us.
We collected her this morning, she is not micro-chipped and has an infected wound to one of her feet. Our main concern though is that she is lactating (has milk) and must have had kittens.
For those who know anything about lactating cats the milk is clearly present but she is not bursting with milk as though the kittens were newborn so they may be partially weaned.
We have checked the location she was found in but there is no sign of any kittens. It is not residential and there are no gardens or anywhere that provides safety and shelter. It is a very unusual place for a cat to be, she may have been abandoned there or have possibly got in a vehicle and jumped out there.
Our main concern is where are her kittens?
