Here's your selection of social media awareness days for October👏🏻

As is usual, I’ve not included all awareness days but tried to make those I’ve listed as relevant to my followers as possible.

There’s so much to talk about this month, and it’s mine and my son’s birthday this month so a lot to look forward to. 🙌🏻

Thinking ahead… I’m considering releasing December awareness days at the same time as November. Would that be useful for you in regards to planning? I’d love to know your thoughts in the comments 👇🏻

Here's your selection of social media awareness days for August!

Like last month... not all awareness days have been included in this post but I have included those that I feel are most relevant for my followers.

If these posts are useful for you, let me know. 😉

Pinch punch - it's July!

How did we get to this point in 2021? I don't know about you... but it's felt like this year has gone by blindingly fast.

With half a year down, and another half to go... I've spent this last week focusing on my business planning for the next 6 months.

This time around, my business planning has had to revolve around what's going to happen in a few weeks time when my husband and I suddenly have two little people to guide through this big old world. 😬

And it's dawned on me that my 2 big whys [in the pic] have already become 3 big whys... even though we're still waiting, somewhat patiently, for the other one's arrival.

Everything I do in my business places them at the centre of it... the hours I work and how I work them in particular.

Creating a balance between being with them and developing my business takes priority when I'm planning.

Thinking about what my time is worth is key to all of that, I know what's worth outsourcing and what's not even if I haven't got to that stage yet.

What do you place at the centre of your business planning? What one thing could you outsource that would free up your time most effectively for you to work on your business over the next 6 months?

Something I have been planning to do content wise for such a looooooong time is to talk about social media awareness days.

And the reason I want to talk about them is to help you with your social media content planning.

Here's a batch for July... now I haven't featured every single social media awareness day on this list, but I know who my lovely followers are and I'm hoping I've given you enough relevant days to work with.

Why are they helpful to you?

If relevant to your business, it can spark a conversation aka engagement with your ideal client.

It can be shareable content meaning that your audience and your industry peers may share your posts thereby increasing your reach and attracting new valuable followers in the process.

It's all bonus fun content ideas that you don't have to think too much about. And if you're trying to create extra content ahead of the summer holidays, it's a no brainer.

Have a look at the list... what social media awareness days are you going to talk about in July?

So this is my vision for summer... running around on the green opposite our house, chucking my 3-year-old around without a care in the world... not worrying about posting to social media yet I'm still remaining visible to prospective clients.

It doesn't have to be a vision or a mere dream... I mean I don't think there'll be a lot of chucking about of the 3-year-old this year given that I will be full-term pregnant when preschool is out for the summer... but the not worrying about my social media part...

That's absolutely true.

You might be asking how? Well, it's all about the prep.

I have already started preparing and scheduling my content for the summer holidays. My aim is to get three posts a week scheduled so all I have to worry about is engagement and the odd ad hoc post that I may or may not do.

I say this in the confidence that I will already have my content done and all good to go.

And I'm encouraging you to join in with me.

- Start creating content for your business to go out over the summer right now.

- Aim for minimal posts every week - 3 posts is a nice number but if 1 is your goal then that's fine too - so if posting extra on a whim takes your fancy then you can... but you don't have to.

- The aim of this is to get your social media taken care of ahead of summer so that you can spend time with the kids or take some much needed time away from your business... whether that's in your back garden or somewhere else.

And all the while, you're remaining visible to prospective clients.

What do you think? Will you be joining me in getting organised before the summer?

Facebook updates feel non stop at the moment - here’s 3 new updates worth knowing for your business.

- Improved photo descriptions for visually impaired users

Any update that makes the world of social media more inclusive gets a thumbs up from me.

In this case, Facebook’s automatic alternative text (AAT) technology, that’s been in use since 2016, has had a revamp.

Descriptions in the new update are much more detailed, and can even tell you information about positions and relative sizes of different elements in the photo.

For example, instead of saying “Maybe two people”, the AAT could tell you that one person is the central focus of the photo whilst the other is in the back left corner.

- Exclusion controls for advertisers in beta testing

Some brands may have experienced problems with their ads appearing in the News Feed next to topics that aren’t entirely on-brand. As an example; a toy ad might end up being displayed next to an inappropriate news story involving crime.

To stop this from happening, Facebook is allowing some advertisers to opt out of placement near specific topics - in this case you could opt out of being placed near “Crime and Tragedy”.

Testing will probably take the rest of the year but when rolled out on a bigger scale it offers brands more control over their image and how they’re shown across Facebook and beyond.

- New Conversions API allows businesses to share server data with ads manager

As iOS14 changes continue to make their presence felt, it’s inevitable that some advertisers will experience issues with Facebook’s pixel tracking.

Facebook has introduced the new Conversions API to pull data directly from your server into ads manager.

This tool was built with the aim to continue targeting, optimisation and accurate measurement of Facebook campaigns as the pixel loses some effectiveness. Because the API will pull from your server, and not your browser, a more reliable connection will be established.

Businesses will have more control of the data that’s shared and how it’s shared. It’s also less likely to succumb to crashes or connectivity issues.

🤯 Is social media becoming one big headache for you as you try to get on with the every day in your business?

😶 Are you drawing a blank every time you go to plan new content?

😬 Have you even got time to plan new content?

How do you fancy blocking out half a day in your diary for an online content workshop with me?

Whilst half a day may seem like a lot to commit to right now, don’t tell me that the idea of getting a tonne of content done in one sitting isn’t getting you excited. 😉

If you can plan in half a day to focus on your content over the next few weeks then pop a comment below before 9pm this Friday evening and I’ll get your name on my super early bird list.

It won’t be a commitment to purchase a ticket... but getting on my super early bird list will get you a nice discount if you do decide that my content workshop is what you need right now.

I’m finalising a date and getting the details sorted but I’m aiming for early March.

So tell me, shall I pop your name on the list?

Happy Monday! ⠀

Thank goodness for Zoom and all the other fabulous apps that have kept us connected in 2020. ⠀

But, as much of a lifeline as they’ve been, there’s nothing quite like having a cuppa and a natter in person. Especially if you run your business from home. ⠀

I’m planning a day of in person Power Hours... they’ll be socially distanced at a covid safe venue (TBC) and it would be an opportunity for you to get focused on your business’s paid for or organic social media woes. These Power Hours will be available at a special price with a hot drink of your choice thrown in to boot. 😉⠀

What I need to know from you is... ⠀
a) is this something you need⠀
b) where in Hampshire you would prefer to travel to
c) any other thoughts or worries about it⠀

Your feedback will help me to plan the day - which venue to choose and times to offer, as well as set your mind at ease about any other worries you have. ⠀

Comment below or DM me if you prefer. ⠀
