After arriving at the lake, doing a lap and seeing very little in the way of fish, I settled into a corner swim that I’d done well from previously.

With very little showing, it was time to let the Deeper Quest do the searching.

Using the Quest’s mapping feature, I set the boat off scanning the swim while I got everything else set up. With the water levels down a good 2ft and what looked like a pretty uniform silty bottom, the Quest revealed a firmer hole sitting around 4’5”–4’9” — an ideal little spot to drop a rig into an otherwise featureless area.

I fished two balanced tigers on a Multi Combi Rig, over a good amount of corn, tigers and boilie, all delivered with pinpoint accuracy using the Quest.

The following morning, around 11am, the left-hand rod absolutely tore off… and the result was this absolute unit weighing in at 50lb 4oz! 🎣🔥

Sometimes it pays to let the technology do the searching when the lake isn’t giving much away!

The long-awaited DownScan Undervision modules for QUEST bait boats are finally here, in your hands. 🎣 We're thrilled to see your best scans, like these impressive spots captured by Florian from Germany.

To get the best results, keep these tips in mind:

• Depth: DownScan performs best from around 2-3 m (7-10 ft) to 20 m / 65 ft. At shallower or greater depths, fine detail may decrease.

• Structure: Trees, branches, rocks, vegetation, and other underwater objects are where DownScan really shines.

• Direction: Scan interesting structures from different angles – the same object can look very different depending on your approach.

• Movement: Keep your QUEST moving steadily in a straight line, avoiding sudden turns or speed changes.

• CHIRP + DownScan: Both technologies complement each other. Use CHIRP for fish detection and bottom hardness, and DownScan for a detailed view of structure, vegetation, and underwater objects.

A fantastic 27lb 13oz from Watermeadows Fishery, shared by a very happy angler and his daughter and what makes it even better is that she was delighted with the catch! ❤️🎣

With the demands of running a lake and a business, time on the bank can be limited. That’s where the Deeper Quest really comes into its own.

Being able to save productive spots and then return to them with the Quest makes getting the rods back onto those areas quick, simple and incredibly accurate.

Less time spent searching and setting up, and more time doing what we all want to do — fishing!

What a session at Swan Valley Lakes! 🎣

After a late evening arrival on Friday, getting the spots sorted was completely hassle-free with the Deeper Quest. I found a couple of clear areas, positioned the rods with precision and settled into my usual bait-and-wait approach, putting my faith in the spots I’d chosen.

That approach paid off almost immediately, with a 20lb common on the first night.

Then, around midnight on night two, I had a huge drop-back! I reeled down as quickly as I could, got the line tight and it was game on.

With the peg being on the smaller side, it was a proper battle under the rod tip. Little did I know, I was playing into a new PB!

Once the fish was safely in the net, I quickly realised just how special it was…
