I’m Paul Williams (aka Sketchy Magpie), a freelance illustrator/clumsy oaf living and working in the UK. I have a background in Educational illustration and previous clients include Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, Pearson Education, Sony, Topps, Breygent Marketing, Unstoppable Cards and Macmillan. Unsatisfied with the lack of creative freedom that the field offers, I decided t

o quit educational illustration in 2016 and spent most of the following year preparing for a run at breaking into my true passion: comics. This culminated in my winning paid work for 2000AD in their 2017 Portfolio Competition and that’s about where we are at the time of writing!
