Today is one of my monthly highlights — meeting up with my local women’s networking group YorkLadiesWhoLatte.

I really do enjoy it.

A room full of women genuinely wanting to support, listen, guide and share as we get to know more about each other and our businesses.

It’s a lovely opportunity to collaborate and learn from each other, but it’s also where some really special friendships can be made.

And, if I’m honest, networking has played a big part in helping my own business grow.

I know that if networking is new to you, walking into a room full of strangers can feel a little uncomfortable (and possibly a bit scary!).

But this is also why I’m passionate about what we wear. The right clothes can help us feel more comfortable and confident, while also helping us feel visible and memorable — an important part of our personal brand.

Days like today send a little pre-session tingle throughout my body.

A young woman building her business joins me for Colour Analysis with her Mum.

These shared experiences have become so much more than discovering the most flattering colours.

Somewhere between the fresh coffee, little treats, healthy homemade lunch and the swatches of colour spread across the table, there’s the chatting, laughter and the comparing.

Then there are the little colour insights that blow your mind and suddenly make you look at your clothes in a totally different light.

Understanding why certain colours feel so right and equally why something else never quite hits the mark…is a revelation.

Apart from the colour magic the bit I really love is that my clients share a meaningful session and together become a little more curious about colour.

Maybe the best way for me to describe Colour Analysis is this…perhaps it’s more about seeing yourself differently and with fresh eyes.

We’ve just returned from a lovely little break in the Lakes. It occurred to me that our love affair with this region began around 20 years ago. Time to relax, enjoy the outdoors and escape the everyday. Back then however outdoor clothing seemed to come in three colours: black, red or navy!

So, as a colour-loving, outdoorsy personal stylist, how personally pleased am I that things have changed! There’s now so much more colour and choice available and I, for one, am very happy about it. 😂

Because why should we lose our love of colour just because we’re heading out into the hills?

I love seeing women embrace colour and discover the shades that make them feel confident, energised and more like themselves. And yes… that absolutely applies to our outdoor wardrobes too!

These photos from a number of trips to the Lakes are a little reminder that getting outdoors, feeling good and wearing colour can all happily coexist.

After 34 years in a corporate career, I know first-hand how frustrating it can be to get dressed and still not feel like yourself.

Having experienced the impact that personal styling had on my own confidence and career, so passionate was I that I retrained in Image Consultancy at the age of 50.

I launched my business in 2017 and now specialise in helping women in midlife feel more confident, visible and empowered through colour analysis and personal styling.

As a transformational personal stylist, I guide my clients through positive change in the way they see themselves and how they show up for their lives at work or in business.

The best bit? I get a front-row seat to the transformation, watching women rediscover their confidence and truly flourish.

The real joy for me is seeing a client look in the mirror in my dressing room and suddenly see herself differently. That moment, when she recognises what I can already see in her is the reason I do what I do.

Based in my welcoming home studio in Strensall, I offer a relaxed and empowering space where women can discover the colours, styles and confidence to look and feel their very best.

When did you last think about the way your clothes make you feel?

Today I shall be exploring exactly this as I welcome another client preparing for her personal branding photoshoot. Yes with angela_stubbs_photographer.

Our clothes can be a powerful allie in telling our story.

A personal branding photoshoot isn’t simply about creating beautiful images. It’s about capturing your essence, the business you’ve built and, most importantly, the authentic face behind it.

And for those images to feel natural, you need to feel good in what you’re wearing.

So for some ….
How do you want your audience to feel when they see you — and how do you want to feel when you see yourself?

The two should be connected.

Clothing plays a huge part in this. When we understand the clothes, colours, shapes and styles that feel like us, getting dressed becomes less about dressing for other people and much more about expressing who we are. Then, 💥 a little piece of magic.

Today is about curating a style that aligns with the message she wants to convey, while still feeling completely authentic and comfortable in her own skin. Not just for the shoot but for every day that follows.

Well…I’m beginning the week with a little ‘pinch-me’ moment as I prepare to welcome a new client who has found me all the way from New Zealand!

I know, right!

I’ve now had the privilege of bringing a little more colour, clothes and confidence for clients in California, Cumbria and the Channel Islands… oh and then there’s Norway, Ireland, the USA, Spain and Italy.

But here’s the thing…none of this happens without you.

Those lovely people who share my posts, the ones who tag a friend and say ‘this might be for you…’

The clients who recommend me and those of you quietly cheering from the sidelines.

To the clients who have already enjoyed a session, following along, liking, commenting and encouraging me…

Thank you so very much for sharing the joy, it means more than you realise.

Then after tomorrow’s little international adventure, the rest of my week brings me back much closer to home, working alongside some wonderful local women — helping them discover how to dress their body and hopefully having a good laugh along the way too.

From New Zealand to nearer home…I love my business journey and I love that you are a part of it too.

At the weekend, I’ll be welcoming a returning client and this time, she’s bringing her Mum.

They’re joining me for a full day of colour and style to prepare them both for an upcoming business photoshoot.

The preparations begin today.

A rail of carefully selected clothes in their sizes, freshly prepared food, and all the ‘little’ details that go into creating a warm, welcoming and truly personal experience.

Their day with me will be bespoke, focusing on colour and defining a style that feels comfortable, credible, professional but most importantly, genuine to each of them.

My aim is to use the power of colour, clothing and styling so when they sit in front of the camera, they can feel comfortable in what they’re wearing and more confident in how they look.

Bringing your authentic personal style to a Brand Photoshoot ensures your images feel natural, and really boosts confidence in front of the camera.

The result is not simply a collection of outfits, but a clear and confident visual representation of the person behind the business.

It’s funny how life throws us lovely coincidences and for me, this week is all about preparing my clients for their imminent branding photo shoots. All three clients!

We look at colour, define personal style, and carefully curate outfits that represent not only who you are, but how clothing can align with the credible face of your business.

It won’t surprise you that it’s about so much more than choosing clothes however.

It’s a nurturing, empowering experience, one that helps women feel confident, authentic and completely at home in the image they are presenting.

It’s true that our photographs will live on long after the shoot itself. They will help tell our story, build connection with our audience and become part of the visual identity of our business.

My work helps women enhance their story through the clothes they wear.

Hello Monday! How quickly you come around…and as we kick off a new week, a little styling tip to ease the time in front of your wardrobe.

This week on the …the half tuck that can be a game-changer.

You can see here how it improves my proportions and visually elevates my outfit.

Our waistlines can thicken in midlife (hello!! few of us avoid it) so the tuck helps define our waistline and adds an effortless, intentional vibe that prevents baggy or less-fitted tops from overwhelming our frame. I guess it also looks more polished than leaving a shirt or blouse loose.

It’s a huge YES from me…what about you? Is it already on your radar?

Sometimes it’s not you that needs changing… it’s your wardrobe that needs to catch up.

Today I’m heading back to Georgina’s wardrobe — we’ve worked together before, but life has moved on, and it’s time to reassess.

Our lifestyles change and so too our priorities. And ahem….so does how we want to feel.

We’ll be looking at fit, what works for her life now, what she loves and what no longer feels like her.

This isn’t about discarding everything and starting again.

It’s about pressing pause, looking at our clothes with fresh eyes and creating a wardrobe that reflects the woman we are now.

A wardrobe review can be more than a clear-out.

It can be a reset and let me tell you..it can be a massive confidence boost. How do you fancy a chance to reconnect with yourself?

You’re still YOU, you may just need a wardrobe that celebrates the you that is about to enter a new chapter.
