What are the TCM Insider Guides?

The “TCM Insider Guides” are designed for you to provide your clients with appropriately pitched knowledge that consolidates what you may have discussed with them.

Based on the principle of “the more we know, the better we do” the guides are beautifully designed and explain TCM concepts and diagnoses in terms that can be understood easily.

The full set comprises:
The Insider Guide to Yin Deficiency
The Insider Guide to Yang Deficiency
The Insider Guide to Blood Deficiency
The Insider Guide to Spleen Qi Deficiency
The Insider Guide to Dampness
The Insider Guide to Stagnation (including Qi and Blood Stagnation)
You can also get the whole set in a bargain bundle.

Each guide discusses the root causes of the symptoms that a person may have and suggests easily actionable strategies for helping alleviate those symptoms.
These strategies emphasise nutritional, lifestyle or emotional adjustments, matching a TCM therapists approach of addressing the mind, body and spirit.

BONUS Canva Template
When you invest in the Insider Guides, not only do you get the ready-to-go downloadable ebook, but also the FULLY EDITABLE Canva template. To use this you will need a free Canva account and then you can customise the ebooks – you can add your brand colours, add your contact details, add a personal section introducing yourself. Don’t make too many changes though – the guides are just lovely as they are!

Explaining TCM concepts clearly can take time—and patients still leave confused.
We need to do better than just advising them not to eat too many bananas!!😂

5 Homepage Headlines That Quietly Turn Away Wellness Clients (and How They Could Be Better)

Your homepage headline is the first thing a potential client reads.
It decides in about 3 seconds whether they stay or click away.

As a web designer who works with acupuncturists and wellness professionals, I often see websites (sometimes very pretty ones too) with vague, poetic headlines that don’t actually say what you do.

Here are 5 examples:

1. “Restoring Balance and Harmony”
Lovely, but doesn’t say who you help or how.
✅ Better: “Traditional Acupuncture for Pain Relief and Stress Reduction in [Your City].”

2. “Helping You Feel Your Best”
Could apply to any type of wellness business.
✅ Better: “Gentle, Effective Acupuncture Treatments to Help You Feel Your Best — Naturally.”

3. “Welcome to My Website” - this one is a real corker 🤣
Friendly, but a total waste of prime real estate.
✅ Better: “Find Relief from Pain, Anxiety, and Fatigue with Holistic Acupuncture Care.”

4. “Holistic Healing for Mind, Body and Spirit”
Nice words — but too abstract for a first impression.
✅ Better: “Personalised Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine to Help You Sleep Better, Feel Calmer, and Live with Less Pain.”

5. “Discover the Power of Ancient Healing” - another classic!
Beautiful sentiment, but unclear benefits.
✅ Better: “Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Backed by Modern Science — Helping You Heal Naturally.”

To summarise, your homepage headline is your digital handshake.

It should clearly say:
What you do
Who you help
Where you’re located (if local)

Clarity builds trust — and trust turns browsers into bookings.

What's the verdict on your headline?

💬 5 Website Mistakes That Make Acupuncturists (or any therapist I suppose) Lose Clients (in my experience.)

If you’re an acupuncturist (or any wellness practitioner), your website should be working as hard as you are — booking new patients while you focus on your clinic practice.

But… most acupuncture websites quietly lose clients before they ever book.
As a web designer who works specifically with acupuncturists and wellness practitioners, I often see the same five mistakes cropping up:

1. Hiding what you actually do
Beautiful phrases like “Restoring balance and harmony” sound lovely…
…but they're a bit wishy-washy ....and if a visitor can’t tell who you help and where you are, they’ll click away.

✅ Make your headline clear:
“Acupuncture for Pain & Stress Relief in Sunnytown.”
Simple. Direct. Effective.

2. No clear way to book
If your “Book Now” button is buried, people will give up -

They’re often on their phone (we have such short attention spans when we're on our phones!) in pain or overwhelmed — make it easy/obvious.

✅ Add a visible Book Appointment button or a Clickable Phone Number in your top menu and throughout the page.
Use language like “Book Your First Visit” — not “Learn More.”

3. Outdated or inconsistent branding
Your website is part of your professional energy.
If it looks old or cluttered, visitors subconsciously feel that energy too.

✅ Use calming, natural colours and modern, readable fonts.
✅ Include real photos of you and your clinic space.

4. Ignoring local SEO ***
If you’re not showing up for “acupuncturist near me,” Google doesn’t know where you are.

✅ Add your location (city/town) throughout your site and in your footer.
✅ Create a Google Business Profile and ask for client reviews.

*** LOOK OUT FOR MY POST, COMING SOON, ABOUT HOW AI IS CHANGING HOW WE NEED TO SET UP OUR LOCAL SEO.

5. Forgetting to build trust
Most people book acupuncture based on trust and connection.
If your site feels impersonal, they’ll move on.

✅ Add a friendly/warm photo of yourself.
✅ Share your story (but not your whole life story!) and what new patients can expect.
✅ Include testimonials (with permission).

🌿 Your website doesn’t need to be fancy — it needs to feel clear, trustworthy, and easy to book.

Even small changes can make a big difference

Just a few spaces left in October for a POWER HOUR.

Do you have a list of “fiddly” techie jobs on your website that have needed doing forever?

It may be that you don’t have the time to do them or it may be that the techie side of your business is not your favourite! In a power hour you’ll get my undivided attention on those technology tasks that you need to use to run your business.

The process:
>> come up with your wishlist (be realistic, I'm good but I can't slow down time!)
>> send in your wishlist via the form on the POWER HOUR page (link below)
>> I'll get back to you asap with a realistic assessment of how much of your list can get done in a Power Hour (you might need more than one if your list is long)
>> book in and pay for your Power Hour on my calendar and we’ll work through your tasks on a Zoom call or I can just get on with it if you prefer.
Sound like a plan? Check out the details and find the form and calendar on the link in the Comments below (and in Bio if on Instagram.)
