Fun Fact: Studies show that retaining customers is 6x cheaper than acquiring new ones.

Knowing this, how should you go about retaining your Meal Prep customers longer? One way to go about doing this is by implementing a loyalty program.

You can, for example, reward your customers with a 10-20% discount after they've been with you for 4 weeks in a row or offer free delivery after they've ordered 6 times.

What this does, is it lowers the possibility of your customers "shopping around" among your competition, which is so often how Meal Prep companies lose customers or, at least, significantly decrease their customer lifetime value.

And, believe us, your customers are going to love you for a great loyalty program (and the below review, which we found on a Meal Prep's page, only confirms that)!

Of course, the biggest factor when it comes to retaining your customers is having a great product and great service.

But implementing a great Loyalty Program is what can differentiate you from your competition in today's crowded market.

🍱 How to use Audience Segmentation in the Meal Prep industry?

If you want your marketing to resonate with your customers, audience segmentation is key.

Nowadays, your customers are bombarded with hundreds of different posts, ads and pictures EVERY DAY. The only way to break through all that distraction is to make your message (e.g. your post or the AD you’re running) resonate with them personally.

For example, if your clients include both athletes and busy entrepreneurs, don’t try to reach both groups with one post.

Rather, focus on each separately. When making a post, try to sympathize with the group. Show you understand their wants and needs and that your service solves the specific problems they have.

Even better, rather than making an AD about your company as a whole, make it about the product that best solves the particular group’s problems.



Segmenting your audience will not only help you stay on top of your customers’ minds for longer but also, if done correctly, will greatly increase the number of engagements on your posts, i.e. more likes, more comments, more shares and, most importantly, more orders!

🃏Jack of All Trades, Master of None?

We've seen too many Meal Prep companies try to appeal to everyone. They use slogans like: "The freshest ingredients" or "The Healthiest Meals". These slogans appeal to everyone and they should net them the most customers. After all, if you appeal to everyone, you get more business, right?

Not really. This type of thinking has one serious flaw - if everybody likes you, nobody loves you. And the customers who love you, are the ones who make you the most money. They order more, stay longer and, most importantly, introduce your company to their friends - who are likely to like the same things! And thus, the word of mouth cycle continues.

For instance, if your company specializes in providing the best possible meal prep services for university students, university students are much more likely to choose your company over competing ones, which try to appeal to everyone.

Of course, there's nothing wrong with appealing to 2 or even 3 groups of customers - just make sure you know who the people inside these groups are, what they like and how to serve their needs best!
