This has been doing really well on Pinterest recently, so sharing here as well! A few years ago, I made this Artworking checklist with my own process for finalising my branding projects once they are approved. Having a strong finalising and handover process is so important to ensure your files are sturdy, can’t be edited or changed, and can be easily understood by your clients and other designers who need to use your work!

And one of my Roman empires is that all of the work designers make should be clear and easy for the next designer to use. Tidy AI files, organised colour palettes, the full works! We all know that clear files and brand toolkits make our lives so much easier - so we should all do our best to supply tidy documents out of respect for our industry and for the love of the job. 🥰

This little blog post has been gaining popularity on Pinterest recently, so posting here as well. Back in 2023, I pulled together a free Designer Checklist and guide to Artworking your branding and packaging projects. Artworking is the really crucial stage of finalising designs and locking them down. By doing it properly and keeping our design files tidy, we can ensure that your client’s work is well-packaged, future proof and easy for your clients and other designers to understand.

I do think it’s really important to ensure that any design that we do can be easily understood by other designers, as it feels respectful of the industry that I love and my clients will be able to work with other designers in the future with ease - no gate keeping here. 🥰

A logo vs. The complete brand toolkit that I built for my clients! ✏️ Doing this trend was really fun because you can see how much colour, playfulness and vibrancy comes from having illustrations, textures and badges as part of a brand toolkit. So much more life to make your website and social media shine ✨

One of my favourite logos ever - a playful, bouncy composition with the Wild Mango font!

The logo amongst these vibrant pastel tones, organic shapes and smart icons feels even more playful. We really wanted to create a soft yet professional feeling brand, so the blend of structure and curves really works here.

A structured font with a few playful edges. The intention here was to create a sturdy but fun brand mark that had enough structure that it could balance out all the bright colours, speech bubbles and shapes that we wanted the packaging to have.

I really love the warm tones and yellows here. It feels friendly and approachable, without loosing its premium edge.

A really lovely serif font with a few sparkles for personality ✨✨✨

The sparkles paired with these hand drawn illustrations really show the hand crafted way that Amelia works! The brand has professionalism and structure, while also feeling vibrant and creative.

One of my favourite projects from 2023: Branding, Illustration and a mini-website working together to create a charming, soft and approachable brand for an Australia-based Puppy Trainer!

There’s something really wholesome and playful about Amanda’s approach to dog training. Amanda creates a curriculum for her pups and clients that is based in positive-reinforcement and play - so I really felt the design should reflect that softness and approachability. The result feels like a great reflection of Amanda’s style. Her approach is fun, relaxed and calm - so the design is too! 🐶🐾💻✨
