Your posting schedule should be ⬇️

Easy for you to manage and stick to.

You may start with the intention of posting twice a day as some experts suggest, or at least every day, but is that realistic for you to maintain? If not, then don’t do it - you’ll burn out and end up with huge gaps between your posts.

Instead, decide what works for you and commit to that, even if that’s 2-3 times a week right now. You can always increase when it becomes routine and normal for you.

How did you become a cake business owner?

Like many, I started making my daughters’ birthday cakes… then for a few friends and family… and before I knew it I was fully registered, making cakes for all occasions and now 30 wedding cakes a year too!

I never planned for it to be a business, but once I started I couldn’t stop!

Happy New Year! 🎉

I’ve been pretty MIA here for the last few months as I battled with balancing my wedding cake business, family life, working in my office job, and supporting current students courses. It’s a lot and I’m sure we can all relate to the balancing act, right?

2024 was such a big year for me both with my cake business and personally and we crammed so much in that I needed a social media break on this side. I still showed up for my wedding cake business though and made sure that new orders came in and I’ve been working on things behind the scenes to push things forward there too.

This is one of the most commonly asked questions I see: “how much would you charge for this cake”

And pricing from a photo is not a good way to work out your prices because you will most likely under price and you won’t know how much profit you are making or even if you’re paying yourself!

So instead, I want you to learn how to price for yourself, quickly and easily. The calculation is actually pretty straightforward:

Costs (including ingredients, sundries, tax, insurance
etc) + your time + profit = total cost.
