With 2026 not far off, I’ve been paying close attention to how websites are evolving - so my clients, both old and new, stay ahead of the curve.
Not in a “chase every trend” way, but by focusing on what’s actually sticking and what’s quietly becoming expected.
A few shifts are already clear.
🤖 AI is becoming part of the web, not an add-on...
We’re moving past novelty chatbots and into genuinely useful AI - sites that personalise content, guide users through journeys, and adapt based on behaviour.
On the design side, tools like Figma’s new AI features are changing how ideas are explored and refined - faster iteration, better decisions, less guesswork.
🎨 Design is moving away from flat and forgettable...
After years of ultra-minimal layouts, there’s a noticeable return to depth, layering and tactility. Designs are becoming more bold, and more inspired by the world around us.
Apple’s recent glass-style UI is a strong signal here - digital products starting to feel a bit more physical, considered and intentional again.
Mobile experience continues to define first impressions...
📱 For most businesses, mobile is the website.
How clear it is, how easy it is to use, and how quickly people can get what they came for is what shapes trust - often before they’ve read a word.
This has been the case for a number of years now, but the trend is still moving upwards.
🌳 There’s growing awareness of responsibility behind the build...
More businesses are starting to ask where their site is hosted, how efficiently it’s built, and what impact their digital footprint has.
These aren’t headline-grabbing features - but they’re becoming part of how good work is judged.
The common thread through all of this is intention.
Websites heading into 2026 aren’t about doing more - they’re about doing the right things, well.
If your website still functions but no longer reflects the quality, confidence or direction of your business, that’s usually the point a proper rethink makes sense.
That’s the kind of work I focus on - building sites that feel current, considered, and still stand up a few years down the line.
If any of this’s got you thinking about your own website, get in touch and we’ll have a chat about what’s next for your business.
