🏡 New case study on the Metcalf Media blog - St Botolphs Holiday Cottages, Pembrokeshire.

This was a genuinely exciting project. A historic estate near Milford Haven with a collection of unique holiday properties - courtyard cottages, a shepherd's hut, orchard cabins - and a client who had recently invested in a stunning set of professional photographs.

The brief had two parts. First, build a website that does justice to the quality of the estate - modern, visually striking, but with the warmth and character St Botolphs deserves. Second, integrate directly with their Guesty property management system so the website is always in sync with their listings on Airbnb, Booking.com and beyond. No double entry. No risk of things getting out of date.

The moment it all came together was when the client uploaded their new photography into Guesty - and within seconds, every property page on the website updated automatically. New hero images, full gallery, everything. It looked incredible.

Another great evening at the latest Pure West Biz networking event from Pure West Radio, this time held in the fantastic Forbidden Florist.

It was great to speak to voices from different businesses inside the county, hearing the insight of Mark from "That Mindset Thing", Rachael from LHP Accountants discussing the latest economic landscape and Abigail from the fantastic Pembrokeshire Lottery.

Two delicious courses of food and we were appropriately joined by the town's new mayor who gave a great toast to the power of collaboration moving forward!

💻 Case Study: How We Built a Full-Stack Website and Private Client Portal for Before It Fades

Every now and then a project comes along that stretches across the full width of what a web developer can do - and the Before It Fades project was exactly that! 😍

What started as a brief to build a website for Martin's Pembrokeshire memory preservation service turned into one of the most technically involved and rewarding builds we've delivered at Metcalf Media - combining a bespoke Umbraco CMS website, a fully authenticated private client portal built on Laravel, Cloudflare R2 cloud storage for secure media delivery, and a full admin panel - all delivered in a fraction of the time it would have taken even five years ago. 💪
