I’m actually loving this 2016 trend going around right now.

There are plenty of social media trends that make me roll my eyes, but this one’s different. Everyone’s actually being reflective about their lives and I’m here for it.

So, me 10 years ago...

📌 Living in Chicago with a 5-year-old and a 2-year-old (chaos, basically)
📌 Running a PR company working with lifestyle businesses around the city
📌 Partnering with the amazing Ryan Arnold from Desoto State Communications
📌 Constantly dying my hair red and flip-flopping between wearing it straight and curly (honestly, still doing this now so clearly, I haven’t learned anything)
📌 Blissfully clueless about all the massive changes my 40s were about to throw at me
📌 Living in the USA at a time before a massive political shift that is literally scarring the sh*te out of me right now.

If I could tell that version of me anything?

- You’re doing better than you think.

- Don’t stress about the small stuff.

- This time in your life is transforming you in ways you can’t see yet, both professionally and personally (but there’s still so much more to learn).

What were you doing 10 years ago? I want to hear all the stories…..

I’ve had an incredible week teaching two workshops on social media marketing funnels for Goldsmiths, University of London Enterprise Program.

The energy in the room was fab - such a brilliant group of entrepreneurs eager to learn, share insights, and support each other’s growth.

The key takeaways we explored included:

📌 Your marketing funnel (aka customer journey) isn’t a straight line - it’s a messy, multi-platform journey that unfolds over weeks, months, or even years.

📌 Customers typically need 11+ touchpoints before they buy.

📌 The platform that closes the sale often isn’t the one that created the initial demand.

We identified common funnel failures holding businesses back: not enough brand awareness content, selling too hard too soon, creating content silos, missing CTAs, neglecting retargeting, and forgetting about the post-purchase experience (to name a few).

Everyone left with a clear action plan:
one thing to start
one thing to improve
and one thing to stop doing

Next up: delivering a Masterclass for the Goldsmith’s Accelerator on marketing systems and automation. Can’t wait!

November has been soooo intense with its fair share of highs and lows, but I’m grateful for some brilliant highlights along the way:

✨ This month I had an absolute blast teaching 2 workshops for Goldsmiths University on Building An Online Audience. I’ll be back in January running 2 more on Marketing Funnels - DM me if you want the details!

✨ I’ve been to some fantastic events including a networking session at the Natural History Museum with iwant2Network (roar!) and our (very early!) work Christmas do with Make Me Social and Make Local

✨ The team marked Movember with a “wear a tash” to work day - celebrating an important cause we’re proud to be showcasing across several client projects

✨ I wrapped up the month presenting Make Me Social to 60+ local business owners this morning showcasing our results for clients

And somehow through all of this... I still haven’t done any Christmas shopping 😅

I genuinely cannot believe it’s November tomorrow (and yes, that means Christmas planning starts NOW).

This month has been packed:

📌 TWO birthdays with multiple parties- including a milestone one for my husband!

📌A kid-free escape to Florence (still dreaming about the pasta)

📌 Team night out with the best people

📌 Client strategy day in the countryside + client events

📌 Multiple networking events

📌 Browsing at the Affordable Arts Fair as research for a new work project

📌 Dance festival with besties

And just like that, we’re racing toward the end of the year. How is this even possible?!

Anyone else feeling like October flew by in a blur?
