Unpopular opinion: Content scheduling isn’t for everyone. And that’s okay.

Almost every day, my feed is flooded with:

• “Plan a month of content in one day!”
• “The secret to Instagram growth? A schedule!”
• “Batch your content like a pro!”

And honestly? I get it. It works for a lot of people. But here’s the tea:

It does not work for me.

Not because I’m lazy. Not because I’m disorganised.
But because my brain doesn’t thrive in that kind of structure.

So if you’ve tried scheduling and it’s made you feel more stuck than free; you’re not broken.

You’re not doing it wrong.

You’re just not a scheduler. And that’s valid.

Don't feel guilty for not scheduling your content.

I get it. Keeping everything up to date is hard!

However, I've noticed a growing trend of people "quitting" their websites because it's:

1. Not getting traffic
2. Not bringing in sales

Sadly, a lot of the time, the problem isn't the website, it's the lack of fresh content.

Websites need nurturing to grow; you need to add new products, write blog posts, build case studies, anything that shows your website is still active to search engines - and customers!

If you can't remember the last time you added fresh content to your website, consider this a friendly nudge to write a blog post, or refresh your product descriptions.

Usually found in the footer of your website, the copyright should read the current year.

Recently, I've found websites with copyright from 2016, as well as one from 2035!!!

Why do you need a copyright?

It is essentially designed to protect your content, because it lets people know that the text, images, designs, and other materials on the site are owned by you as either the website creator or business.

Therefore, the copyright discourages others from copying or using the content without permission and provides legal backing if someone does misuse it.

In simple terms, it’s a way to claim ownership and safeguard your original work.

Do I need a website?

I like to describe websites as the “brain” of your business that everything else points to: business cards, social media, stickers, advertising.

It should hold all of the relevant information that customers need about your business:

- Who you are
- What you do
- Why do they need you
- How you can make their life better
- How to work with you
- How to purchase from you
- How much you charge
- How to contact you

If done well, your website can also introduce your business to new potential clients organically.

But don’t be fooled into thinking that building a website will bring immediate results, or that you can build it and leave it.

Like most things, your website needs nurturing to grow to its full potential through blog posts, SEO etc.

Faux Nostalgia (with a “modern” twist).

These are all trends that are popular in logo design right now, as I write this post.

The problem? This time next week, next month, next year, and definitely in 10 years, all of those trends will be dated and out of fashion.

When you run a business, you plan to run it for a few years…that’s why you started it, right? To build up and grow your business so that it provides a solid income for a good portion of your life.

Doesn’t it make sense for your Logo to progress with you?

Of course it might need little tweaks down the road, to refresh your image or further align with your goals and strategies.

However, small tweaks are much cheaper than having to go through full redesigns every year or so.

Making a long term investment in a logo that will stick with you, represent who you are and be the biggest point of your identity, will save you so much time and money in the future.
