If you're completely halting your campaign, your growth on SERPs will inevitably slow down.

It's kinda like driving an old banger (cutting your SEO), sure it might get you there but it's going to take a lot longer and chances are you'll need some expensive repairs along the way.

OR, if circumstances allow it, you could pick up a nice red sports car (continue SEO). While everybody's driving an old slow car, you'll be cruising your way to first position rankings!

Doing your own link building in-house could actually be costing you more money.

Unless you've invested a serious amount of time and money into cultivating a well-refined database of highly qualified sites.

It's like trying to replicate a meal from your favorite restaurant. Sure you might pay less but is it as good?

Our prospecting process consists of 5 steps.

Our team focusses on one step at a time in a factory/conveyor belt type model.

Here's a small snippet from the Quality Analysis stage.

You'll see these domains all have organic KWs / content around one of the following categories:

-- CBD
-- Alcohol
-- P**n
-- Casino
-- CBD Oil

Why is this a big deal? Well in our opinion, if a webmaster is selling links to those industries it's a cause for concern. The SEO's in those industries tend to do some dodgy stuff in order to gain an advantage over their competitors.

There is a lot of money to be made in those industries so it's worth paying a little bit riskier.

Plus I'm not interested in working with a webmaster who is accepting links that aren't natural or topically relevant to their site just to make a buck.

Basically, in this stage, we have a VA go and highlight every site that has a mention of any of the above categories. We will then double-check these later and make a decision on whether or not the site can be used.

This obviously, makes it harder to acquire links, since we're being so fussy. However, we honestly believe its a requirement if you want to get good rankings + stay away from any penalties.

As you can imagine, this is an extremely time-consuming process. However, it results in you getting the best bang for your buck possible.

The Shotgun Technique is the name given to the process of mass emailing webmasters with the intention of getting a backlink from them.

We realized it's pretty hard to get good quality links that move the needle using this technique. So we spent a bit of time testing different approaches ⚠️

Our shotgun process is a hybrid between mass emailing and attaching personalized content that gives value. Which we've found to work a LOT better. 💪

How does this look?

Well, we start with a large list of prospects. These prospects then go through a very thorough quality analysis stage. This is the stage where we check the entire site for footprints, quality of backlink profile, topical relevance, etc.

After this, we find out as much information as we can on the sites that made the cut. The sites will be categorized based on the content they post.

We then create a template with 5-6 gaps for field insertions. Then we find the data to fill these fields out on a spreadsheet.

As soon as that's completed we will import it into Buzzstream.

Throughout every step, we're writing down notes on each webmaster.

AND FINALLY, we will send the emails one by one. Adding in any personalization based on the notes & previous chat history.

It might sound simple but it's an extremely time-consuming process. However, it helps us secure quality links and helps build a relationship with the webmaster for future campaigns.
