We recently helped our client share its vision for a landmark development located in the heart of Manchester at Whitworth Street West.

Sitting alongside the Deansgate transport hub this striking 44-storey residential tower will deliver 364 homes providing residents with ‘on the doorstep’ access to Manchester’s world class cultural attractions. The building is designed by award winning Architect Sheppard Robson and draws inspiration from Manchester’s rich heritage - with the city’s history showcased in design elements such as the triple-height arched terracotta colonnade. Over 7,750sq ft of amenity space will be provided across three floors including external balconies offering exceptional views across the city.

has appointed B8RE as joint agents alongside Gerald Eve to market Meridian 6, a 625,000 sq. ft employment park located on the M6 motorway in Wigan, Greater Manchester.

Speaking about the appointment, Steve Johnson, director at B8RE, said: “Wigan is a well-established industrial, manufacturing and logistics location, and we are thrilled to have secured such a prestigious instruction in this location”.

“This is the first time we have advised Glenbrook, and we are aware that the team has been working diligently behind the scenes to prepare the site for development to begin. The site offers many alternative development layouts, and we are hugely encouraged by Glenbrook’s flexibility in being able to offer leasehold and freehold turnkey deals on all unit sizes, together with land sales on the larger plots. We are already working closely with our joint agency partners with some exciting active enquiries.”

Glenbrook’s Guy Butler added: “Since planning was secured, we have been drawing up detailed plans with our design team on the site infrastructure, which ensures there is ample power to the site, and aligning the funding to ensure deliverability. We have made significant progress and are working towards the appointment of a contractor over the summer before commencing access to the site in the third quarter of this year.”

Meridian 6 is designed by , is the planning consultant for the project and is the civil and structural engineer.

Among the winners was with the business scooping the coveted Housebuilder of the Year accolade 🏆 the team also won the larger apartment scheme of the year award for Eda - a Build to Rent development in Salford

Ancoats Dispensary won the Conversion of the Year Award, with the scheme built by our client
Eric Wright Group Construction, while the major Stockport Interchange project won the Community Impact Project Award. The Interchange, a huge new asset for Stockport has been created in partnership with our client Cityheart.

One of our big client announcements this week was the news that Dakota had confirmed plans to construct a 154-bedroom hotel at the new development.

Dakota Hotels has submitted a planning application for a seven-storey, £60m scheme close to Manchester Airport. The scheme will be the company’s second in Manchester – the first opened on Ducie Street in 2019. The airport hotel is expected to generate £12m a year for the local economy, according to Dakota, which is expanding across the country.

Our client Gareth Jackson, group property director for Manchester Airports Group, said: “We’re thrilled that Dakota Hotels has chosen MIX Manchester with the announcement coming just weeks after we launched our revised masterplan for the site.

“The Dakota Hotels brand is synonymous with high-quality customer experience. It is the perfect partner to join other forward-thinking companies at MIX Manchester and will provide an exceptional standard of accommodation for employees and visitors alike.”

The MIX MANCHESTER masterplan is being delivered by a joint venture between Columbia Threadneedle Real Estate, Manchester Airports Group, BCEGI, and the Greater Manchester Pension Fund.
