Just back from a lovely 5-day trip to Cologne đŸ‡©đŸ‡Ș

I spent most of the time wandering through Christmas markets, drinking hot chocolate, and taking in all the festive lights and music. The atmosphere was something else, cosy, joyful, and full of little moments that made me slow down and just enjoy being there.

One of the highlights was visiting the Cologne Cathedral. Standing in front of something so detailed and historic really makes you pause. I’ve seen photos before, but being there in person is a completely different feeling.

We visited five different Christmas markets, each with its own theme and its own unique mug. We brought one home from each as a little momento of the trip (and yes, I definitely had to rearrange my bag to fit them all in).

It was one of those trips where we walked a lot, saw a lot, and really just appreciated every moment along the way. A lovely way to kick off the festive season.

It’s been nearly 3 months since I last posted for myself.

After losing my dad, I’ve been taking some time for me, learning new skills like Blender, getting back into old hobbies I’d forgotten I loved, and just slowing down a bit.

I’ve still been working behind the scenes for my clients, but honestly, I haven’t had it in me to post my own content.

That said
I’ve been creating! And today I thought I’d share a little something I made in Blender

It’s been a difficult couple of months, and I wanted to share why I’ve been quiet.

Towards the end of March, my dad was taken into hospital with what we thought was a problem with his hip. After some tests, he was unexpectedly diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. We were told we might have up to a year left with him, but sadly things changed very suddenly, and he passed away on 2nd May.

It’s been a heartbreaking and emotional time. I took a step back from work to be with my family and look after everything that needed to be done. I’m slowly finding my way back into work now, taking each day as it comes.

Really grateful to those who’ve checked in or waited patiently—it hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Today is International Women’s Day
 so let’s talk about it.

We all know the usual posts—empowerment quotes, shoutouts to inspiring women (which are great, by the way!). But beyond that, it’s a day to actually recognise the everyday wins.

It’s about the women running businesses, leading teams, taking up space, speaking up, and supporting each other. It’s about the ones balancing way too much but somehow making it work. And the ones still figuring it out but refusing to give up.

So, whether you’re smashing goals or just getting through the week—you’re doing amazing.

How Logos Have Changed Over Time

Ever noticed how some brands look totally different from when they first started—but you’d still recognise them anywhere? That’s the power of good branding.

Apple, McDonald’s, Pepsi
their logos have all had major updates over the years, yet they’ve never lost their identity. Because branding isn’t about constantly changing—it’s about evolving while staying recognisable.

So why do logos get a refresh?
✅ To keep up with design trends (what worked in the 80s doesn’t always work now)
✅ To stay clear and readable across digital platforms
✅ To simplify and make the brand instantly recognisable

Swipe through to see some of the biggest logo transformations! Which brand do you think did it best?

Why Good Design Matters 🎹

Your branding is about getting information out there. But it’s also about how your business is perceived. your business is perceived. A well-designed flyer, brochure, or social media post makes your message clear, professional, and visually appealing—ensuring people actually pay attention to it.

Take this before-and-after example. The original flyer had potential, but:
❌ The brand colours weren’t being used, making it feel disconnected.
❌ The logo was just plonked on rather than integrated into the design.
❌ The design felt outdated and unpolished, lacking a modern, professional feel.
❌ The image didn’t reflect the warmth and connection of the event.

With a modern refresh, the new version is:
✔ Easy on the eye—clean layout, soft colours, and a professional finish.
✔ Brand colours are used, creating a cohesive and recognisable look.
✔ More inviting—imagery that better represents the event’s purpose.
✔ Credible and polished—reflecting a business that cares about quality.

Design isn’t just about looking good—it’s about making the right impression. If your marketing materials feel outdated, they could be sending the wrong message about your brand.

Struggling to Keep Up with Social Media Content?

Let’s be real—keeping your social media looking fresh, consistent, and engaging takes time (a lot of it). Between running your business, managing clients, and tackling a never-ending to-do list, creating eye-catching graphics is probably the last thing you have time for.

But here’s the thing—consistency builds trust. If your posts feel rushed, inconsistent, or all over the place, your audience will notice. A cohesive, well-designed social media presence helps people recognise and remember your brand.

That’s where I come in. ✹ I create branded, professional social media graphics that make your content stand out—so you can focus on running your business while still showing up online.

Is Your Website Doing Its Job?

Your website is often the first impression people get of your business. If visitors land on your site and don’t immediately feel like they’ve found what they’re looking for, they won’t stick around. They’ll click away, move on to a competitor, and forget they were ever there.

A strong website isn’t just about looking nice—it’s about communicating clearly, building trust, and making it easy for people to take action. If your site feels vague, generic, or directionless, it’s probably working against you instead of for you.

Some of the biggest mistakes?
❌ Messaging that’s unclear or buried in paragraphs of text
❌ No real proof of credibility—no testimonials, no results, no personality
❌ No clear next step—if visitors don’t know what to do, they’ll do nothing

Your website should be guiding visitors effortlessly, not making them work for it. If it’s not doing that, it might be time for a refresh.

How confident are you in your website right now? 👀

What 2+ Years of Running My Own Business Has Taught Me

Over two years ago, I jumped into running my own business—excited, slightly nervous, and honestly? Not entirely sure what I was doing. I had skills, I had drive, but nothing quite prepares you for the actual reality of working for yourself.

Since then, I’ve learned a lot. Some lessons came quickly, others? Not so much. But the biggest thing I’ve realised? You never stop learning. Business is constantly evolving, and so are we.

I’ve had moments where I felt completely in control, and others where I wondered what on earth I was doing. I’ve made mistakes, changed direction, set boundaries, taken risks, and figured out what really works for me. And honestly? I wouldn’t change a thing.

The best part? There’s still so much more to come.
