Yesterday I spotted a random post about these ladies on LinkedIn..the creators of .jobs 👏

Last night I caught up on a random episode of Dragons Den….and there they were!

So ok universe, i’m listening!

Their energy, passion, understanding love for their mum as they spoke about her experience of returning to the workforce after having her daughters, it was so engaging. 😍

The ladies spoke about how women struggle to find their place, realise their value and can feel unsupported after having their children. I FELT this, I FEEL this…and if I could, I’d give the pair of them a massive high five! 👍

It’s so underestimated the shift women go through after becoming mothers and so often we forget who we are, our sparkle fades and we forget to prioritise ourselves.

So .jobs I salute you! And it just heightens the flame in my belly to keep going with my own mission. Our new magazine will be the space where you feel inspired by other women, you can support, shine your own light and remind yourself and others of the absolute magic you possess that the world DESERVES to see!

We’re here to be a force for good for mothers and I hope you’ll stay for the journey! ✌️🤩

We love to share the stories behind mum-led businesses! Often it’s not a straight line, but it’s a wonderful journey of juggle, passion and a dream to create something of our own 🤩✌️

Here’s the first part of story….where it all began! Stay tuned for more!

“My journey into business probably isn’t the typical one… and I think that’s why it might resonate.
I was already self-employed as a freelancer for years as an event director, then COVID hit and overnight my entire industry disappeared. So I retrained and became a mortgage broker.
Setting up a website and a page, as I had to start to find clients and get my name out there.

Then life didn’t exactly slow down…
I fell pregnant during COVID, became a first-time mum, and also stepped into being a holiday let landlord at the same time.
I always laugh when I say this, but it sums it up perfectly…
I went into COVID with 1 dog, 1 step-child, 2 rental properties and a career in events.
By 2021, we had 2 dogs, 2 children and 4 properties (2 of them holiday lets).
So to say the last few years have been busy is an understatement”.

For a long time, I questioned whether my voice mattered. 🤯

I worried about saying the wrong thing, taking up too much space, or sharing opinions and experiences that no one really wanted to hear. 🙈

But somewhere along the way, I realised something important:
My perspective has value.
My story has value.
And so does yours.
Standing up and presenting recently felt like more than just speaking, it felt like finally trusting my own voice. 👏

That trust is what’s inspiring my next chapter: creating a digital magazine for mums - a space where women can share their stories, perspectives, opinions, creativity and experiences openly and honestly. 👌👌👌

A space to entertain, educate and inspire.
A space where no one feels they have to stay quiet.

Soon, I’ll be opening up contributor opportunities and I’d love to connect with mums who have something to say, share or create. ✌️
