Since starting my business, I've been booked for over 50 talks and usually nothing goes wrong. The one I sometimes talk about is the time I accidentally mentioned Gary Lineker's underwear in the middle of a talk... Earlier this week, I had an even greater calamity when I got stuck in the lavatory minutes before my talk was due to start and had to be rescued! Note to self: always take phone to loo (which I hadn't).

Would you love to wear more colour to express your personality and complement your skin tone but don't know where to start?

As an introduction to the impact of wearing colour, you can join me as part of the HEY Wellbeing Collective's series of summer rooftop workshops for my workshop on how to dress confidently with colour.

Saturday 27th June 10 to 11 am
Humber Gallery, Humber Street, Hull

The workshop will include:
● a talk on the impact of wearing colour and how to use colours to enhance our wellbeing
● a hands-on activity to explore the four seasonal colour palettes
● a bitesize demonstration to see how colour analysis can boost confidence and transform the way we dress

What a fantastic (though shattering!) weekend!!

On Friday, I was volunteering at a Trans Support Hub Clothes Swap in York, and on Saturday as part of the wider York Pride, I had a stand in the York Trans Pride gazebo as one of their sponsors. It was wonderful meeting those attending both events along with the staff and volunteers at both Trans Support Hub and Generate York.

Particularly moving for me was chatting to a woman at Pride who'd not just come out for the day with her mum, but had 'come out' for the day in her true gender identity for the first time and was feeling nervous. I hope she found joy and confidence as the day progressed.

May hasn't bothered to do spring. It's gone from faux winter with chilly winds and hail stones to a heatwave summer. Even as a stylist, I felt I'd forgotten how to dress for summer! It's hard for me to wear more colour in the summer as I wear a lot all year round, but I've been enjoying wearing these sorbet shades today.

In this week's transformEd style magazine, one of my articles will be about what to wear in the sunshine if you're not a fan of shorts or your need something office-appropriate.
