Laptop down for the long weekend… but will I actually manage the whole weekend without checking in? 👀💻

It’s been a busy one - creating and scheduling content for two home care agencies, a glass manufacturer, and a leading manufacturer of liquid flat roof systems. Safe to say, no two days are ever the same!

One of the things I love most about working in social media and marketing is how much you learn along the way. From care sector messaging to technical specifications and product details - you really do become a bit of a pro in industries you never expected.

Here’s to switching off (or at least trying to!) and coming back refreshed for another week of learning something new.

Hey 👋 I’m Holly - the face behind Holly Boult Social.

The lovely recently pointed out that my account is pretty faceless… so here I am, taking the hint and showing up a little more 😅

Most of my work comes through word of mouth - people I know, people who’ve worked with me before, or people who’ve been kindly recommended my way. Which I’m incredibly grateful for, but it does mean I’m not always great at shouting about myself on here.

I primarily work alongside other social media managers (hello white labelling 👋), as well as some brilliant marketing teams and agencies. I also have a handful of private clients who I genuinely love working with.

What do I actually do?

I cover most areas of digital marketing, but content creation is where I’m happiest, getting to know businesses properly and helping them show up online in a way that feels like them.

What a great start to 2026!

The year has kicked off in the best way and I’m feeling incredibly grateful already.

Let’s talk keywords.

Did you know keywords are essentially social media’s version of SEO?
The words you use in your bio, captions and even on-screen text help platforms understand who your content is for - and can even help you appear in Google search results.

If you’re not being intentional with your keywords, there’s a good chance you’re missing opportunities to be found by the right people.

This can be as simple as being clear about:

What you do
Who you help
Where you’re based (if location matters)

Small changes to your wording can make a big difference to visibility.

Big Instagram Update: Your Posts Are Now Discoverable on Google! 🔍📲

Instagram just made a major move - your public posts can now show up in Google Search. That’s right, Reels, photos, and carousels from public profiles are now indexable and searchable outside of the app.

👀 What this means for you:

• Greater visibility for your content
• A new layer of SEO strategy on Instagram
• The chance to reach a whole new audience through Google

💡 Tips to optimise your posts for search:

• Use relevant keywords in your captions
• Add alt text to images
• Keep your profile public (if growth is the goal)
• Be intentional with hashtags - they help Google understand context too

This is BIG for creators, brands, and social media managers.

👉 Time to treat Instagram content like blog content. Optimise for search, not just for scrolling.
