Fresh from the printers, ready for the pitch. 🏏

Delighted to have prepared and produced the official tournament handbook for the ICC U19 Men’s ICC Cricket World Cup Europe Division 2 Qualifier, hosted by Guernsey Cricket

Best of luck to all the teams taking part in the tournament! How amazing to see an international event like this hosted on our little island! 🇬🇬🏏

A closer look at the Bailiwick Jellyfish stamp designs. 🪼

Sometimes the best design decision is knowing when to let great photography do the talking.

These six stamps feature the incredible underwater photography of Sue Daly, capturing some of the fascinating jellyfish found in our Bailiwick waters.

My role was to transform the photographs into a cohesive stamp set, selecting the typography, colours and layout to complement the images without distracting from them, before preparing the final artwork ready to be submitted to the Palace for Royal Approval. 🤴

A large Compass Jellyfish has been spotted this week! Has anyone else spotted any jellyfish in our Bailiwick waters recently? 🪼

From the sea, to the screen, to the final stamps! 🪼🖥️📮

There’s always something special about seeing a design I’ve worked on finally printed and out in the real world.

My copies of the Bailiwick Jellyfish stamp issue have arrived, and it’s lovely seeing all the finished philatelic products together – from the Stamps and Souvenir Sheet to the First Day Cover and Presentation Pack. ✨

A big thank you to Guernsey Stamps for sending me my copies!🪼

Sometimes the best design work is knowing when to let great photography speak for itself. 🪼

The new Bailiwick Jellyfish stamp issue is now released, featuring the stunning underwater photography of Sue Daly. I had no idea such incredible-looking jellyfish could be found in our surrounding waters until I received Sue’s photographs.

My role was to select and transform six individual photographs into a cohesive stamp collection, before designing the accompanying philatelic products, including the Souvenir Sheet, Presentation Pack, First Day Cover and Sheets of 10. I also created the promotional campaign, including the bulletin spread, retail poster, website banners and social media graphics.

One detail I particularly enjoyed was choosing the typography. When I discovered this gently flowing typeface, I knew it would perfectly complement the jellyfish. It feels fluid and playful while remaining highly legible at the tiny scale of a postage stamp, measuring just 40 × 30 mm.

My favourite part, though, was creating the Presentation Pack cover by compositing all six jellyfish photographs into a single underwater scene. 🪼✨

Some logo designs just click and feel special right from the very beginning. 🏏💚💛

When Guernsey Cricket approached me to create the logo for the new Guernsey Mavericks Cricket Club, their vision was clear: to bring together the past, present and future of island cricket, celebrating the traditions and heritage of the game while creating a modern club with a strong sense of identity and community.

The challenge was to create a logo that felt established and timeless, while still looking modern enough to work across today’s applications.

The shield gives the logo a traditional sporting identity, while the wicket subtly forms the letter M for Mavericks, with the surrounding shape creating the G for Guernsey. I paired a vintage-inspired typeface with a more contemporary typeface to reflect the club’s blend of heritage and modern ambition. In all, creating a classic club logo that players and supporters could be proud of for years to come.

Whether embroidered onto blazers and caps, printed on playing kit, or used across digital platforms, the logo needed to work beyond the screen. Keeping the design clean, scalable and recognisable at every size, to work in the real world.

Designing a logo that respected tradition whilst feeling fresh and contemporary was a challenge I thoroughly enjoyed. After presenting the initial concepts, receiving this feedback made all the hours of sketching and refinement worthwhile:

“Well what can I say, you have absolutely nailed it in terms of what the whole Mavericks concept means – genuinely superb. Thank you so much.”

Thank you to everyone at Guernsey Cricket for trusting me with this project. I’m looking forward to seeing the Mavericks brand continue to grow on and off the field. 🏏

Stamps in Situ 📮

Maria and I cycled to all six post box locations featured on the Guernsey Post Boxes stamps, tracking them down one by one across the island and photographing each stamp alongside its real-life post box.

Travelling by bike unintentionally paid off too, as our bikes ended up being helpful recreating the two bicycles featured in the illustration on the 75p stamp. 📮🚲🚲

Risking life and limb (and receiving a few puzzled looks) for philatelic content. 📮📷

To celebrate the Guernsey Post Boxes stamp issue, I set out on the bike to photograph each stamp alongside its real life post box.

A big thank you to Maria for once again being my stage manager, roadside risk assessor, and general partner in crime. 😎
