This was a lovely project we completed recently for the guys at The Falcon Inn - Long Whatton

Our brief was to produce a physical brochure to showcase the hotel rooms available at The Falcon.

We opted for a 6 page A6 landscape, roll-fold format which enabled all the information to flow beautifully through an intro page, list of amenities and a booking prompt/contact page. We also included some great images of the exterior and the hotel rooms. As always, we ensured the design adhered to brand colours and typefaces.

The brochures were printed in HD colour onto a 400gsm premium, uncoated board giving a rustic, tactile feel.

This brochure is a great example of how print remains relevant in the digital age.

Committing to producing a physical product to showcase your services or products displays credibility and shows that you’re established and committed and in turn this creates trust.

We’ve just produced a limited-edition range of wonderful Greetings/Valentines cards for local artist Catherine Elizabeth.

The cards are available from Gaysey Maisey in Castle Donington so if you’re looking for a special card for your loved one, call in and take a look.

How we did it;

We took Catherine’s hand drawn and painted originals and scanned them at super-high resolution (2400dpi), scanning at such high resolution ensures we retain as much detail as possible.

Catherine’s originals were created on a textured, hammered board so we had to remove this effect from the scanned image whilst ensuring none of the image detail was lost.

Finally, we colour-corrected the scanned images to closely match the original art.

The cards were printed on a premium 400gsm silk board with gloss lamination added to the image to make the colours pop.

Another really enjoyable project bringing an artist’s beautiful images to life as a commercial product. ♥️

A final design project to share before Christmas…

John at Velocity Detailing - PPF & Ceramic Coating Specialists got got in touch to see if we could help in a creating a fresh and modern image for his business.

Within the logo we wanted to incorporate an arrow to symbolise “velocity” and the negative space in the V symbol achieved this perfectly.

Mono logos have been popular this year and this is another example; strong, bold and confident - without the need for multiple colours.

For the typeface we used Arboria; a clean, modern face.

After finalising the logo, we went on the produce leaflets, business cards and signage. There’s a beneficial continuity when we create an identity and then produce printed products, we can ensure consistent use of typefaces and correct placement and use of the logo.

Big thanks to John for placing your trust in us with this project, it was a great one to work on!

Really enjoyed producing these art prints for talented local artist Nigel Atter Pet Sketches and Portraits by Nigel.

Reproducing artists originals as prints can be challenging, a print is an interpretation and colour management and precise printer calibrations are required in order to achieve acceptable colour fidelity.

We produced Nigel’s prints on our Epson wide-format printer using a high quality 260gsm semi-matt paper.

The prints are available to order from Nigel and Carol and are currently being exhibited at The Nag’s Head Bar & Grill
