This Carers Week, we want to recognise the incredible role carers play in supporting people and families every single day 💜 The care, patience, and compassion carers give can make such a huge difference in people’s lives and communities across the UK.

Through the work our fundraising teams do every day, we continue to support charities that provide essential care, guidance, and support services for carers, families, and those facing difficult times.

Every conversation and every supporter helps these charities continue the vital work they do within our communities.

A great weekend at the Mind Body Spirit Festival 🌿✨

Two of our fundraising team members attended the event to help raise awareness for Alzheimer's Society💙

It was a lovely opportunity to speak with people, raise awareness for the charity, and have some really meaningful conversations throughout the weekend.

There was such a warm and positive atmosphere across the event, and it was wonderful to see so much kindness and support from everyone who stopped by.

Events like this are such a great reminder of how powerful simple conversations can be — and our team absolutely loved being part of it.

About five years ago, as I was thinking about starting my own agency, I came up with the name The Fundraising Partnership. I shared my rationale behind the name with Nick, who sadly passed away last year and he used it to craft our mission, vision, and values. These principles have been the foundation of our business ever since.

Yesterday, I was twice reminded that partnership is central to everything we do. First, Gemma from the Alzheimer’s Society congratulated us on the one-year anniversary of launching a Door-to-Door campaign together. They hadn’t run such a campaign for several years and had concerns about restarting it. Now, a year on, we’ve achieved an industry-leading no-show rate of just 3.5% (if anyone has managed lower, please let me know!) and a three-month attrition rate of 8%. We’re incredibly proud of these results.

On the same day, Neil, one of our remarkable fundraisers, signed up ten supporters at the door in a single day. Neil had previously been let go by another agency for underperforming, but when he joined us, he told me he believed he could succeed with proper training and support. Neil’s achievements stem not only from his hard work and eagerness to learn but also from the support and guidance provided by our back office and senior management team, something he has credited as to why he’s able to deliver to this level.
Running a fundraising agency committed to high standards can be challenging, but moments like these, shared by both charity partners and our fundraisers, remind me why we started this company in the first place.

It is with great sadness that the Face-to-Face fundraising sector lost one of its brightest stars.

Nick Berg, The Fundraising Partnerships CEO, who helped mold us to be the caring, passionate and cause focused company that we are, sadly passed away last week. He will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure to have met him.

Nick was a true genius, he had a passion for reading, for knowledge (and for West Ham). He knew everything about everything, a true walking encyclopedia. Whether it was music or films, geography or politics or football and fundraising, Nick’s ability to real off stats, facts and genuinely interesting anecdotes meant that he had the ability to put anyone at ease and talk with them about subjects that they were comfortable discussing.

Apart from Nick’s love of reading and absorbing knowledge, he was extremely passionate about fundraising, but doing it the right way. He put our charity partners and our Fundraisers first with the knowledge that if you employ amazing, professional and passionate people who genuinely want to raise money for fabulous worthy causes then you were already a step ahead of the rest of the pack. His ability to devour data helped build and develop polices, processes and a way of working that put quality front and center.

Nick always said that he wanted The Fundraising Partnership to have excellence running through it like a stick of rock, a place where we weren’t afraid to push to be better both for our charity partners, the industry, the company and for us as people.

We will miss the chats, the motivation and mentoring, and the time he so generously gave to listen. We will miss the wonderful Christmas Jumpers that were worn all year round and are thankful for the little gifts that were delivered out of the blue as he’d sent us something out of his appreciation for what we were doing for the company he loved.

We are truly grateful to have worked with such an amazing human being. We will continue to push to be better, to improve, to follow the data and to be the best ambassadors we can. Nick’s legacy will live on in the millions he helped charities raise for care and in the DNA of our company as we will always ask ourselves ‘What would Nick have done?’

May he be forever blowing bubbles x
