𝗜𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘄𝘀, ‘𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴...’🖊
As a freelancer you rarely do start at the beginning.Projects are usually under time pressure and it’s about what you can do NOW! Looking at past experience can be key in ascertaining if they will have the right ‘fit’ for your company, just as you would in a traditional recruitment process.
So here’s my ‘beginning’ in bullet point form, because I love a list...🖤
⛽️I gained 1st clsss honours in Business & Marketing at the University of Leicester in 2006
⛽️Worked for the largest UK parenting website, babyworld.com. Optimising & marketing content and their e-commerce platform. We had a large forum of Mums and were responsible for the 1st sponsored online interactive chat with a celebrity couple...AKA Gabby & Kenny Logan!
⛽️I worked for Fox FM (now Heart FM)managing Marketing, Events & Online. I was the first to use the website on air in a cross promotional way and I set up all the pages & DJ blogs
⛽️ I took on a Head of Marketing role in the automotive industry. I was responsible for modernising their marketing and website to move away from the ‘cheesy’ 1950’s car sales vibe and I implemented ‘one price’ policy to create consistency & trust online & offline. I created a photography-guide for gaining good car imagery so photo standards were consistent across the group to appear on web/autotrader
⛽️I started in 2010 to work with a wider range of clients. I begun mainly offering SEO, Google Adwords, Content Creation & Web design. I’ve worked both directly with clients and with agencies to support their clients. Now I work mainly in Content Strategy & Creation, Social Media & Influencer marketing but I draw on my wider experience when needed
⛽️I set up The Oxfordshire Foodie to create a space where I could share my foodie finds, support Oxfordshire hospitality and gain a deeper understanding of digital & social. It’s now a passion project that’s grown to be more than a little side hustle.It brings opportunities and experiences which all support my growth⛽
