A little shout out to my wife, Sarah . When people talk about running a small business, they quite rightly talk about the hard work, the long hours, the wins, the difficult days and everything that comes with trying to build something. What perhaps doesn't get mentioned enough are the people behind the business, quietly supporting it all through the good times and the bad.

Over the last 10 years, Sarah has proof-read countless bits of copy, helped with office moves, painted offices, decorated Christmas trees, packed things up, unpacked them again and generally been there whenever an extra pair of hands has been needed.

Tonight is no different. Even though she's still getting over a cold and had a long day at work herself, she's here with me at Mercedes-Benz World helping me set up the Conquest Social Media stand ready for tomorrow's Business In Surrey Expo.

She's never asked for any recognition for any of it, but Conquest simply wouldn't have had the same journey without her support along the way.

And I know I'm far from alone. Behind so many small businesses there's a wife, husband, partner, child, parent or friend quietly helping, listening, encouraging, carrying boxes, proofreading, making cups of tea or simply being there when things haven't quite gone to plan.

So this is a shout out to Sarah, but also to all of those people behind the scenes who probably deserve far more credit than they ever receive.

Some exciting news from Conquest….We’ve recently signed clients in Australia, which means Conquest now has clients across the UK, Spain, the USA and now Australia. So I think we can officially say that we’re a global social media agency! 🚀

When I started Conquest 10 years ago, with our first ever client being a garage in Woking, I honestly never imagined that we’d one day be working with businesses on the other side of the world. A really proud moment, particularly in our 10th year.

A huge thank you to all the businesses who have chosen to work with us over the years, and to everyone who has supported us, recommended us and helped us along the way ❤️💙

We’re incredibly lucky at Conquest to work with some fantastic brands, all with their own personalities, challenges and stories to tell. Every now and then, though, a client comes along whose energy, enthusiasm and sheer volume of ideas makes our job particularly enjoyable......Enter Modstyle International Eyewear 👋

We’ve been working with the team to help elevate their existing eyewear ranges within the optical industry, and the timing was perfect when we were brought on board to help launch their Prue Leith ‘Specs by Prue’ range. Funky, bright and full of life, these frames are lighting up opticians’ displays throughout the UK, North America & Australia - and they’ve given us plenty to get our teeth into on social media too.

But what really makes working with Modstyle so much fun is the people behind the brand. Will, Sara, John and the rest of the team is full of energy, ideas and enthusiasm, and when you combine that with our team, there’s never a shortage of things to talk about, create or try. - For any social media manager, that’s a pretty great combination!

What a wonderful sunny day to celebrate Harry’s last day at Conquest, with a lovely fish ‘n’ chip lunch.

I’ll certainly miss having him around, but I’m so excited to see what the next chapter brings.

After six years, Harry is moving on to the next chapter of his career. From a 17-year-old fresh out of school, joining me as a Digital Marketing Apprentice through Farnborough College of Technology, to the confident young man and talented Social Media Architect he is today, it has been an absolute pleasure to watch him grow, both professionally and personally.

Not many people get the opportunity to work with their son, and I think it’s safe to say, we’ve had a ball along the way! There have been plenty of laughs, a few challenges, some great achievements and, most importantly, a lot of memories.

I'm incredibly proud of the person Harry has become and everything he has achieved during his six years at Conquest. Now it’s time for him to spread his wings and start a new chapter with Blackbox UK.

Harry, I wish you every success in the next stage of your career.

Good luck, buddy. You’ll be missed. 👊

It's great to see LinkedIn taking steps to tackle the flood of low-quality AI-generated content through their new "AI slop" reporting tool.

Now imagine if Meta followed suit... Wouldn't it be refreshing if our Facebook feeds were filled with genuine stories, real conversations and original ideas, instead of poorly written AI posts, generic graphics and content that's been copied and pasted a hundred times over?

AI is a brilliant tool when it's used to support creativity and expertise. But it should never replace authenticity.
