IAE announcement that will affect all agricultural steel products.

From 1 July 2026, new steel quotas and tariffs risk placing further pressure on British manufacturing.

At IAE, steel is a core material in everything we produce for UK agriculture. Increased costs and restricted supply will inevitably impact pricing, competitiveness, and ultimately the distributors and farmers we serve.

At a time when manufacturers are already facing high energy costs and supply chain challenges, these measures could weaken the resilience of UK industry and rural economies.

We remain committed to British manufacturing—but urge policymakers to ensure the right balance is struck to protect both steel producers and the industries that depend on them.

💧It looks to be hot hot hot over the next week, so it's very important to encourage hydration! Offering dilute mashes, with added salt, is one way to help. An extremely dilute mash can be made with either TopSpec High Fibre Mash or TopSpec Linseed Mash (1 part mash to 5/10 parts water) to encourage horses to drink and rehydrate, this is particularly useful if you have a fussy horse or a horse that doesn't drink when away from home.

🍇TopSpec Electrolytes are designed to help compensate for electrolyte loss after heavy sweating. TopSpec Electrolytes have an excellent high salt formula and have an extremely palatable, wildberry flavour, they can be added to either normal hard feeds or to dilute mashes depending on the circumstances.

⭐ Introducing Sophie Smith, Downland CEO and one of the presenters for our upcoming Shaping Future Flocks Roadshow ⭐

Sophie graduated from Newcastle University with a degree in Agricultural Zoology in 1993 and has worked in the Animal Health Industry for 33 years, she holds the NOAH Certificate in Animal Health (since 1994) and has been an SQP since 2018.

Sophie will be hosting the second half of the session, with a talk on Flock Health Planning, where she will be sharing guidance on farm health plans, what they are and how they can help, as well as tips around medicine use and the importance of testing.
