I reviewed three Kajabi systems this week.

Three different coaches. Three different businesses. One thing in common.

Every single one of them was a maze.

Modules nobody could find. Resources nobody had opened. Onboarding sequences so long the client had probably quit before they reached the end.

These aren't bad coaches. They're excellent coaches who made the same mistake most coaches make.

They kept adding. Because adding feels like value.

It isn't.

Overwhelm is the quietest churn driver in online coaching. Not price, not competition. Overwhelm. And most of the time it's completely fixable without rebuilding anything from scratch.

Trying to explain my definition of success over lunch today…

It's really very simple.

A 3-day road trip in our dusty old Land Rover that's now turned into 8 days - and still counting.

No place to be, no boss to report to. Just going where the road takes us.

The town we've landed in has probably as many millionaires as Monaco. They compare Rolexes, cars, villas and portfolios, then look over and ask us, "So what do you do?"

This. We do this.

That's as successful as it gets for Jules and me.

A split test. Bear with me.

Here's what I'm supposed to say:

"Are you ready to take your coaching business to the next level? My 2-Day Strategy Intensive in Seville is specifically designed to help you clarify your offer, define your ideal client, and build a system that finally works for you."

Right. Now here's what I'd actually say if we were sat across a table:

How long have you been waiting for your coaching business to sort itself out?

Because I know the answer. And so do you. Three years, maybe more, and the business you keep meaning to build is still living in your head. Or maybe you're already in business and the brutal truth is it's going nowhere, and you know that too, but you can't say it out loud. Not to your partner. Not to your team. Not on a LinkedIn post, that's for sure.

Here's your option.

Stop fooling yourself and get on a plane to Seville. Sort your own accommodation and your flights. Pay me a grand a day, and I'll buy the food and drinks.

Then sit across the table from someone who will actually tell you the truth. All of it. No agenda except yours. Bring the stuff you haven't said out loud yet. The fears. The doubts. The 3am conversations you're having with yourself.

Two days. Real talk. Real answers. A city that'll do your head some good as well.
You'll fly home knowing exactly what to do and why. And if you need someone keeping your feet to the fire after that, I'll do that as well.

I wish I'd had someone do this for me twenty years ago. It would have saved me a decade of wrong turns.

Grab a seat, and let’s talk about your coaching business…

We often forget why we started our biz.

Life gets in the way, there’s always something else that needs doing, and before we know it, we’ve bought ourselves another job.

Whether you’re just getting started, or you’ve been in the game for a while, you need to design your business around your life - not the other way around.

I don’t want to be the richest guy in the graveyard, success to me is enjoying the journey - on my terms.

Another Monday at the office...

I snapped this as I walked down to Salvador for a coffee this morning (I should buy shares in the place).

Where you work, the environment you put yourself in, has a direct impact on how you think, how you create, and how much you actually get done.

It doesn't have to be a beach. It could be a quiet room with no distractions, a coffee shop that gets your brain firing, or just a desk that isn't surrounded by chaos (or idiots).

But if you sit down every morning and something feels off, if the space drains you before you've even started, that's worth paying attention to.

Your best thinking doesn't happen when you're fighting your environment.

So think about it. Where do you do your best work?

And is that where you're actually working right now?

Anyone else working today?

Saturday morning, I’m at our local beach cafe - the laptop’s open, coffee ordered, and the sea is doing its thing.

Reading this, you might think, "He's working at the weekend? Not for me, thanks."

I'm not grafting today because I have to. I'm working because I want to.

You see, I have a cheeky appointment with the ocean on Monday morning, which would be bad manners to miss.

That's called business by design.

Jules and I obsess about creating a business and life that we don’t need a holiday from.

Here's what I know from experience…

If you started your business for freedom, but you're chained to the same hours, the same desk, the same routine you had before, what did you actually build?

You didn't build a business. You bought yourself another job.

The freedom isn't in working less. It's in choosing when. And where. And why.

Your version might look completely different.

Maybe it's school pickup on a Wednesday. Maybe it's a Friday off. Maybe it's three months a year somewhere that makes you feel alive.

But you have to design it. It won't happen by accident.

We build our business around our life, not the other way around.

Six years ago, Jules and I were on holiday in Valencia.

She was still stuck in a corporate job that was literally killing her, and I remember sitting there thinking, "Why are we going back?"

That night we said to each other, "Why don't we create a life we don't need a holiday from?"

So that's what we did.

We packed up, moved to Spain, and built our business around our life instead of the other way around.

That wasn't luck. It was strategy.

The same strategy I'd been using for 20 years to build businesses that actually work without burning the person running them into the ground.

And it's the same strategy I now bring to coaches and course creators who are either just starting out or stuck in a business that's busy but not growing.
