Gemma is truly inspirational and working with her has been an amazing experience. After being medically discharged from the British Army in 2014 with Compartment Syndrome, she had a complete mental breakdown and tried to take her own life. Now she is bridging the huge gap in the support available to our troops after service by creating the charity Direct Transitioning Help for ex-service personnel who are suffering from PTSD, physical disabilities and other severe problems to help them get on their feet and re-join civilian life with a sense of purpose, motivation and hope for the future. Hi guys, as you may be aware, I am currently one of the finalists in the Creative Industry category of the EVAs (Enterprise Vision Awards) with my copywriting business, Word Magick.
The EVAs is one of the most prestigious women’s business awards in the UK and is for business women in the North West, and as you can imagine, having left school at 13 and struggled with confidence issues and various other Catch-22 situations throughout my teens and twenties, it means a lot to me to be achieving my dreams and to be selected as a finalist, especially after just a year in business.

And so it begins, the votes are open for the EVAs!! I don't seem to have a proper link to my voting page yet but if you can find me please help me get started by voting for me today - my older friends will know how much this means to me and how hard won success has been after leaving school at 13 and the years of struggle after that. Please share this page to help my client and fellow EVAs finalist Gemma Gardner fulfil the first stage of her dream to get charity status for Holistic Dreamz. As you will see if you read on, Gemma's own experiences led her to set this charity up to help ex-service men and women reclaim their lives after combat and use their skills to create a brighter future for themselves and their families. More former soldiers die through taking their own lives than in combat, and Gemma's charity will help change that statistic both in the UK and hopefully around the world as the charity grows. She is up to £720 of her £1,000 target now, please help and share if you care
