When you’re with a friend trying to have some good healthy debate on your topic of choice and they’re on the fence about it.

They’re not really sharing their opinion either way… There’s something inside you that’s a little bit frustrated with that, right?

Why can’t they just tell you what they think?

Well, it’s similar when it comes to content marketing.

Anyone can give you information on a topic, but not anyone knows (or can articulate) your opinion.

It’s daunting thinking about sharing your opinion in general as there's always the risk it could be taken the wrong way. But there could also be people that your opinion helps – to see things differently or to seek validation of their own feelings.

When you see someone else speaking out about things you agree with, it’s a nice feeling isn’t it (see how happy the team is in this picture!). So, why don’t you be that person for others?

This week has been National Storytelling week. Now's the perfect time to write a short story with a little bit of you thrown into it, post it on LinkedIn and see what happens.

Ahh customer pain points. Showing you can solve them is the name of the game in marketing, but it’s far easier said than done without giving it the hard sell.

One thing you can do is create content that gives solutions to your target audiences’ pain points.

For example, if you notice your clients are all asking about the same thing, write an article on it and send it out to your mailing list to give people value.

Always remember, you can produce a well-written piece of content or a lovely looking campaign, but if it doesn’t speak directly to your audience, you might as well bin it!
