KIND WORDS
Sometimes a commission comes in that touches your heart and makes you so grateful for the moments you have with your loved ones. These lovely words from a recent client with a heartbreaking story meant so much to me. It was an honour to work with this lovely lady and to create something very special that hopefully would give some comfort to a very sad situation.

A little video to showcase a recent addition to my shop. A pretty calligraphy piece using a passage from this famous W B Yeats poem in copper gold and walnut alternating inks. Down each side the illustrations are hand drawn in copper gold ink and hand painted using professional watercolours on 300gsm watercolour paper. A beautiful gift for someone special, you can choose the calligraphy style and ink colours if you wish.

One of my most requested calligraphy commissions is to handwrite in ink wedding vows, whether they are traditional church vows or personal vows that have been created by the lovely couple. It's such a joy to be able to make something so special that can either be a gift from friends, an anniversary or a wedding present. You can choose to have both vows together or on separate pieces of paper. I use 300gsm watercolour paper which has a lovely off white slightly textured appearance.

Simple, classic and elegant - perfect for weddings or events where less is more. This tented A7 (when folded) place card with a wax seal and classic gold ink calligraphy on a slightly textured Tintoretto Gesso card is one of my favourite place cards.

You can choose different styles of wax seal stamp designs such as an olive branch, a bee or as seen here a classic Fleur de Lys. You can also choose the colour of your ink and wax seal to match your theme.

I’ve recently created a brand new website and I'm now delighted to be able to announce that you can now order many of my services online, including bespoke calligraphy poems, wedding stationery and on the day pieces. I'm going to be adding items all the time so feel free to keep checking back. I'm also hoping to include calligraphy resources such as calligraphy tutorials and much more.

You can even order pieces such as this special calligraphy commission in walnut ink. Whatever you would like I can make it. With Father's day around the corner perhaps there's something special I can create for you.

So much of my day is spent on the computer so when I get the chance to jump off the technology and sketch a wedding venue, home or special building it is genuinely such a joy. I get completely lost in the details of the intricate stonework or trees and plants that adorn the sides of the buildings. I love the way the light falls on these beautiful structures and I imagine how long the original craftsmanship and design must have taken. Historical buildings are a particular delight and even though my hand will ache after hours of drawing tiny windows I'm always delighted to recreate these stunning places.

Once the initial sketch has been made I then scan the drawing into my computer and vector trace to create a digital version that can be printed in any colour and onto paper or other mediums.

One of the perks of my job is that I have the honour of creating very special commissions for people that can be cherished for a lifetime. I often receive very personal and heartfelt requests for something unique and bespoke to the person or persons the piece is going to.

I was so touched by these kind words from a recent client that I wanted to share them with you as they really meant the world to me. You can see a little glimpse of the finished piece in these pictures. This commission was handwritten using metallic navy and gold ink, every single star and constellation were hand-drawn. It was a joy to make this and I hope the little lady receiving the gift will find inspiration from the words for many years to come.
