Are you making your fitness classes too complicated?
Here’s how you know...and how to fix it.
Do you second guess your decisions when designing workout plans and creating classes?
Are you frustrated when you get stuck in a cycle off re-editing and redesigning your workouts?
This is really common, even for experienced fitness professionals when they plan to film their first series of workout videos.
It doesn’t matter if it’s yoga, Pilates, Strength Training or Step. Fitpros like you are creative and you love what you do, so there’s temptation to include too much into a class whether that’s IRL or online.
Often instructors and PTs try to cram too many different exercises into a 20-30 minute workout because it feels like your adding to value and expertise.
When in actual fact, participants want clarity and not complication - too much variety makes the workout feel rushed and random.
Audiences actually want things to be easy to follow and execute.
They don’t mind repetition - that actually provides practice and builds confidence.
If there’s not enough time spent on more challenging exercises it can be difficult for participants to build competence or confidence, leading to a feeling of being unsuccessful.
And that’s a turn off to coming back.
So don’t be afraid in making workouts simpler and easier to follow. Repetition builds familiarity, builds confidence and leads to loyalty and mastery.
